Got mine today and gotta say I'm impressed with the quality. As other have said the plastic is thick and durable feeling. I've got my stock axles out and I'm getting ready to assemble them so I'll post some more pics later. Way to go SSD!

I'd love to contribute pics to this, but USPS currently has my package in USPS limbo. Wasn't home yesterday to sign so they left a notice...goto pick up and its not there, for some reason its being returned to RPP....now its being intercepted to be delivered tomorrow....but when I look up tracking info, it shows as signed for by me and delivered at the time I was at the post office...ARGH! Hopefully it shows up tomorrow like the clerk promised. No wonder they're going/went bankrupt...

On the positive note, these axles are looking more and more promising the more pictures I see. Keep them coming!

Yeah Axial got schooled on the SCX10 axles here....I bet SSD already made their money back on the sales!!! Sold out two shipments to RPP within a few hours....thats good business.

Isnt the wraith width version already the ar60? Its plastic with a diff cover.

If anything this is the answer to scx10 axles being more like the wraith axles without having to go aluminum axles.

SSD isnt too far off from being able to produce their own truck kit. I think shock absorbers & chassis rails is all they have left to do.

RPP you rock!! Box was waiting for me today

SSD you are the Cats ass!!!!!

My Hot Rod has made it impossible for me to do anything but open the box and look at them through the bag today.
NHRA event pushes the time to work on these out till sunday!!

Gives me a lil time to figure out what rig they are going under.

Got mine assembled and everything went together easily. I wanted to use some zinc scale hardware but everything I had was 8mm or longer so I just installed some black 5mm scale bolts. I think they look pretty good. The tolerances are right on so my chubs and lockouts were snug but not too tight. Overall I'm pleased with the quality of the material used on the housings. These things are gonna be huge sellers and hopefully set a precedent for inexpensive yet quality made axle housings from the other manufacturers. Big props to SSD! Here are a few pics of the axles and my swb chassis. This one is going to be a Bronco!

These look fantastic , the only problem I see with them is the lower bolts on the diff cover getting so beaten up after a bit of trailing , you won't be able to remove them easily. ( same as the GCM metalheads )
The alloy diff cover they offer at least has the bolt heads recessed a bit , thats a necessary upgrade id be putting on , or run it without the bottom 2 bolts.

Alright SSD you killed it with these amazing axle cases. Next step, make us some brass tube inserts to eliminate the need for wheel or knuckle weight. That would also make your beef housings even stronger!

Yeah, I see someone making beef tubes for these in the near future. Still plenty of room for the shafts and will add weight and give some metal to thread into for the hubs and lockouts.

What length front upper link should I use with Panhard mount? I was using the vanquish CMS kit but that upper link is to long. Any advice would be helpful, otherwise these housings look great. Thanks

60mm is the length that comes with the SSD CMS kit.

yeah I checked some aluminum tube we have in the hobby shop and they fit right in there. and just allowed for the axle to slide through. thought about making a sleeve just for holding the screws but I will weight for something heavier than my aluminum pork tubes. I think OD of the tube was 15/32's but metric seems like it may be a better fit.

Has anyone installed Vanquish chubs on these yet? they are very tight and seems like I will need to remove some material(not much) to get it to slide on. is anyone else experiencing this with any other brand chubs?

I posted pictures in this thread with my VP parts installed. Post #276. The housings are a very tight tolerance with VP parts. The chubs only go on about halfway, then get super tight? The housing is hitting the inside of the chub where the cutout for the scx raised mount holes start/stop. I tried a few times but it was too tight. Took a dremel to the housing to knock off a little bit of material.

thanks I did the same I tried my best but only got on half way. After a little dremeling i tried again and it went on fine so i tried to install everything and it wouldnt fit again. well with the bearing in it wouldnt fit but with a tad more dremeling it fit on all the way and very snug which is nice. and they look great to boot.
