Default Deadbolt build "Lowlife"

What the build snowballed into...

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I recently picked up a deadbolt, figured I would post up a thread to keep track of all the stuff I do to it.

unboxing it:

First thing I did what remove the light bar and chop the back off of the cage:

decided to give it a little test in stock form:

Realized I really needed to move to battery to the front:

I laser cut a top cover at work:

Extra shot of my roommates fresh wraith build:

Next step will be the wraith axles from his wraith and some 2.2's as he will be getting some VP Curries.

Getting ready for the wraith axles, Got my transmission turned around in the chassis, mounted my battery as low as it could go up front, and moved my electronics around. Going to have to fab something up at work for the upper links so they clear the drivelines. Also I ordered a set of ScalerFab front and rear bumpers for this thing.

Thanks!

Started working on a bracket to move my upper links up and out of the way. Ill see how this works, may change it up if I don't like how it works

Nice job on those side plates. If you run a 2200mah sized pack you can also move your ESC to the front and mount it on the rear portion of that battery tray. That's how I have mine sorted. Your receiver box may need to move up a bit so the upper links don't hit it at full compression. Mine did this so I had to mount it on top of that back chassis brace. Just a couple things I ran into that might help you out hopefully.

Thanks for the tip, I did space the receiver box up about a half an inch tonight and now the link clear it perfectly.

As of right now I am using a 5000mah battery, so I am limited on space in the front of the rig right now.

updated pics coming soon.

Everything is mocked up with the Wraith axles. I think it looks good!

Again everything is still mocked up and nothing is really finalized yet

hodgepodge link set up for now:

Thanks!

Those hubs and knuckles arent actually going on my rig, they are my roommates, I just used everything from his wraith to mock it up and see what it will look like. Hopefully tonight I can get everything put together as much as possible. My axles shafts for the rears are going to be here this weekend and I need to order wheels and tires still.

I got both axles under the rig in their final position. Had to move the battery yet again to clear the servo. Now I am waiting on my rear axle shafts and tires.

Nice looking wroncho... you will find that the wroncho crawls great. I put a G6 body on mine and I am trying to make a rep. of my 1:1 rig.
What is your wheel base?

I ended up with a wheelbase of 13 5/8
you can take a 5/16 inch piece of delrin and make a brace for the back.... check out my wroncho build.

My wheel base is 12.5 with the stock scx-10 skid
I have also just ordered a lower 11t pinion gear (stock is 13t) and a Holmes TorqueMaster Sport 540 30t, the motor was on sale so I just went ahead and grabbed one.

Ok, so the tires arrived late to work...but anyway onto the details.

I went with Maxxis trepadors (R35) in a 2.2 with Gmade beadlocks. The beadlocks are alright but next time I will get metal beadlocks that have a different way of locking the bead in.

After I got it all put together did a shake down run in the gravel at work and played around on a stack of pallets.

and a picture of it with my 1:1 DD

Excuse me for being a wise ass. But why not just pick up a AX10 deadbolt?

Simple... I like the idea of having a real frame.

Plus I had not planned on doing a wroncho from the start. It just kind of happened this way.

Went out to Lucia falls today. Had a blast...was not that impressed with the trepadors, the rocks were really slippery though. Other then that I need to extend my wheel base, so I ordered a wraith skid that I will swap in. That should get the the wheelbase that I desire. Anyway...on to the photos.
