Hey thanks.I like the 2.2 pitbulls too but i have a set of flat iron 1.9 4.76 that came in today and can't wait to try them out to see what they look like.

Default Re: R.N.S Jeep NukNukizer Chassis Backwards

Not sure if any body notice but i put the frigging skid plate backwards so the motor is on the wrong side, Dammmm.
So i had to dismantle all the links today and to rotate it 90*. Maybe i could of left it but it wouldn't reach my RX box, What a pain,oh well lol. It's funny to when i turn the spur gear the wheel axle rotate forward while the shaft goes backwards and vise versa.I heard we had to reverse the motor wires or something.Wouldn't still be the same thing..I know the gears are on the opposite side just like the Real 1:1 like my FX4 Ranger 4.10 rear end..
I'm using brush motor but no timing
Is every body running these SSD with the drive shaft going backward while the tires goes forward...Is this the way the shaft turns on a 1:1.
Any ways here the screw up.and then the chassis assembly.

Build looks good. You really went for the scale hardware. I like the scale stuff but such a pita to deal with so I only use a little bit of it.

hey thanks. This the first for me using scale bolts.I try to use the scale bolts were you can see them the one you can't see will be hidden and use washers were i have to.I already ran out of 6 and 8mm bolts.,kinda fun putting it together.
The scale bolt kit comes with 100 bolts and they range from 6,8,12,16,18,25,30,3mm socket and cone washers.i have 10 x 30mm bolts but in the manual it only ask for 3,maybe some of the bolt are use for the cage but i don't think I'll be using one or will I....
If i have to cut some down i will..

I had to cut down all the 3mm stuff I used on my SSD axles. they were all too long. Only place I used the scale stuff though. I got a rig from a boddy where he did scale all through out and it drove me nuts.

Oh OK i thought maybe you were making a joke.when you said it drove you nuts.Get it NUTS and bolts kinda like a pun....lol ..
You know when i look at it, it's to bad the bolts weren't a tad bigger.and using the Axial bolts with the scale bolts it don't look right either...
I need to get scale bolts now...
And this is my first rig using the scale bolts too...

Default Re: R.N.S Jeep NukNukizer Chassis assembly SCX10 Build

Welcome to exhibit "E".lol

Again this is what I'm using for the scale bolts made my own and ordered 2 one 2mm and 3mm hex bolt driver

Before I start i decided to borrow Axial chassis rails for a future project, just trace out and mark the holes. Thanks Axial

Well i have the chassis all laid out and ready to put together.

Here i use 10 @ 3m x 8mm scale bolts for chassis and 8 @ 3 x 6mm with cone washers for Integy shock hoops..

I had this Ingtey aluminum skid plate laying around and i notice it's like 1.5mm higher then the Axial plastic skid plate.
I'm thinking it might be top heavy and not low CG Oh well i won't be competing so that's ok with me.

since i was shopping for batteries and lights at hobbyking.I decided to try these motors Hobbyking 45t brush motor.
They were out of stock 35t so i decided to order them any ways at 10.00 each can't go wrong,so i bought 2.
Check how the corporate the spring like cover to protect copper wire from braided, nice touch.

Here the Vanquish SCX10 Frame Mount Servo what a great product very well made,I like

Here i had to motify the front chassis brace in order to fit the FSM.they say to cut all the way to the just like the aluminum ones.
but i only cut what was needed
It fit nice a snug in side the chassis rail.THe FSM is holding it there.

I've use this before and works and looks great Ofna servo horn CNC 25T part #10776.

Here i mounted the Vanquish FSM I bought and i had to try 3 types of scale bolts the best one's that worked was the 3m x 12mm,bolts fit flush.

Once that was done a little mod is in order.I had to trim front chassis brace and cut off what you see not much.
I file down flat and test fitted about 5 times until it was a snug fit.

i had to file down both side of this 7mm endball,"eyelid" that used in order to fit the 3 link in front on axle.

When i purchased the complete set of scx10 scale bolts it didn't include 3m x 20mm bolts.
So i had to improvise and cut one down for the for the 3 link on the SSD axle.

Default Re: R.N.S Jeep NukNukizer 715 Pt 4 assemabled

OK here are the some of the links that i will be using for the front end.I didn't feel like making any right now but maybe later on
This is my first pan-hard setup,so it will take me a couple of tries to get it right.
from left to right.
The 2 4mm black steel links are from a nitro CEN GST 7.7 that i had about 5 years ago, they didn't work out,to short.so there gone.
But I may use them on my Wraith to make fast back..
next is 2 4mm chrome steel links,I think there are from a 4WD buggy i use to own but long gone.
Next is 2 small green 3mm links together is the length I'll be using for the pan-hard cross links
the next link is not a link. This is a nitro chassis brace for XTM X-terminator buggy that i had and no modification is needed.
I luck out and it fits pan-hard 3 link right on......
Not the best pic but all my pics are "Taken from Samsung phone"....
the front upper link

here the front end as you can see it looks ok to me no binding

here is the size for my front end....
Front upper 3rd link 65mm, eye to eye 111mm

Upper Pan,pan-bar,pan-hard,link 40mm, eye to eye 92mm in the back round..

Here's the link that i will be using with revo ends
Servo link 36mm, eye to eye 88mm

Here it is all done up.....

here it sits nice and purrrdy and looks parallel seem to flex ok,will only know when i take it out for test drive.

Bad pic and to lazy to take another fully compressed and clears everything fine...

top view...

here's a side again looks pretty even.....

complete angle pics front and rear....

side view of chassis and all ready for tires, which I can wait to assemble.....

Here is the box which i used 3 x 10mm scale bolts manual requires 8mm but i ran out so I will be using 10mm..
I ran out of 6 and 8mm scale bolts so now I'll be wing it with the bolts that i have left over.
If i have to cut i will...

the 10mm were to long so i found these cone washers i had from another kit..worked perfect.

here you see the the cone spacer it work great and does protrude through the bottom..

Default Re: R.N.S Jeep NukNukizer 1.9 Flat Iron XL Mango Rings Wheels

Ok here are a few choices for wheel an tire combo.I have 3 sets. Will see which looks and works best.
so what I'll be using for this tire build is Old axle bead locks and Pro-line flat Irons 1.9 G8 XL.
The flat iron are very soft and sticky and has a nice tread pattern...

The 1.9 "Agile Mango Special Edition" ring from Locked-up RC Is just to get and idea to see what it would look like.
When's the last time you seen a set of these,Axial "Rock Lizards" cut down from 2.2 to 1.9 and
100 M2x2mm and 30 M2x7mm.

As you can tell Old School. These Bebe pellet were used back in the day like 6 years ago and were never talking apart.
As you can tell the foams are finished deteriorated.Memory foam wasn't readily available so we use the Bebe..
It roll better inside the tire to...

Reduced from 2.2 to 1.9 and they held up great with CA glue.

Check it out total weight for all 4 wheels 250 Grams = 9oz
What mess even the Bebe pellets deteriorated..

Not that i don't like silver but i figure time for a change...
Easy Off works great, but remember to wear gloves, this stuff burn if left on the skin to long an maybe safety glasses would be good idea to..
pretty straight forward.Just spray and let stand till all the chrome is gone...i let it sit for about 20 Minutes
Rinse and clean up..

Here i found the plastic was to shinny. So just to play it safe,so that the paint could stick i sanded with 320 grit wet sand paper

Here it is with at least 4 coats of semi gloss Krylon paint.
I also painted the rings black for inside the bead...looks better then what it was..

Here is a comparison New and old foams 6 years can you imagine.you can tell i don't compete..lol

Now on with the weights...been reading threads on here about weights.
It looks like I'm going with 4oz,front and 3oz rear .
this more for trail runs and crawling so i hope it ok.

Now when I open the Pro-line package i notice the flashing on the bead. They were all like that on one side....so i trim them all...

Here it's all cut clean..

I found the inside of the foam needed to be trim just make it easier for fitment.

Here's one all done up 3 more to go......

Here's tiny scale bolts..M2x2mm

I love the way those new flat irons look. The orange bead lock rings are nice too.

Yes the flat irons are a nice tire real sticky and soft.I've always like the original flat irons 4.20 1.9 tread pattern which I still have a set,but a little small for this build.
The rings are more like a light orange "Mango orange" to be precise....
thanks.....

Great progress!
I've always found the Flat Irons a perfect all round very decent performing tire.
Did you (or are you going to) do anything to make the receiverbox waterproof?

Hey thanks. To be honest I'm not sure how I'm going to waterproof the receiver box yet.Any ideas.
I'll check on here or google it but I will make it splash proof for sure...
I also have to try to waterproof my light system too that will be in my weight box....
Waterproofing is a learning curve for me,so I may try the "Marine Shoo Goo" not much just enough to seal the lid on the receiver box,it's real sticky stuff and easily to remove from plastic.

Default Re: R.N.S Nuknukizer Proline faultline Wheels RC4WD Mud Slingers

This may take a while so a little music while I build these Pro-line Faultline 2.2 With RC4WD Mud Slingers 2.2 Stock foams.
Since i was going all out on scale bolts i decided to order some stainless steel 3mm from Lockedup RC to do the prolines.
the only problem is the the hex bolts that came with the faultlines are 2.5mm and I'll be using 3mm scale bolts.
So this is what i had to do.had to tap every hole to 3mm,in the end it looks a little better and they don't stick out like the hex bolts..
Also the hubs has to be in-large from 2.7mm to 3mm with scale bolts.

Here is the parts all laid out for the wheel and tire comdo.
I added 4 extra ounces in each wheel.
the foams that came with the Mud Slingers were firm so i decided to cut them up a bit..
I wanted to try some thing different....

scrap..

Ok here i had a problem when trying to compress the RC4Wd tires to the proline wheels.it's as tight as i can gets it and there is about 2mm gap.Well at least i don't have to vent my wheels now.
