| 90supra SCX10 Build
Been lurking for awhile now and figure I might as well throw up my SCX build in it's current form. Unfortunately broken phones have led to lost pictures so there won't be much in the way of progression up to this point. Started with a RTR G6 Wrangler kit and have made changes from there. Current set-up is: RC4WD 55T Hobbywing 1060 Stock steering servo Axial aluminum links (12.3" set) with SSD short ends, 4 SSD long in the front STRC C hubs SSD D60 axles SSD High Steer Knuckles King shocks, just changed to 20WT from 30 Broke parts list includes: RC4WD 35T Stock Axial ESC 1 stock axle housing 2 Shock towers Original Axial motor and most of the stock plastic links were bent right away Bought as the first crawler in March and have been hooked since then. Still only have the one crawler but bought a Yeti as well. Anyway here are a few pics to get it going. From a trip to Crested Butte Backyard crawl track start Shot from this morning: And the current layout Don't really do any comps or anything, just a fun hobby for me and a few buddies. My plan with this thread is to have a place to keep track of my build and changes from here on out. |

Ended up going to long with out making changes and Pitbull tires "Drain the swap" sale was to good to pass up. Had previously had rock beasts on and was always impressed but wanted a little more clearance for a lot of what I run. Picked up some Rock Best XL's which meant buying new wheels, SSD D window. Also picked up some SSD CVD's and a new SSD diff cover for the d60's. Front axle prior to new cover (Somewhat hard to see but its rough. Pliers needed for lower screws): SSD D-windows pulled apart getting locktite Front end back together with new parts: With the hacked and rattle-can'd G6 body: And with the beat up Nukizer body after playing in some snow: Haven't been able to actually crawl with it yet but I'm betting it'll be better than ever. Currently running the Pitbulls with the stock foams and going to give them a chance to break in. They do seem a little stiff but I'm willing to see what happens. Next on the list (wrapped under the tree) will be new steering links and a Pro-line 85 Toyota body. Last edited by 90supra; 12-03-2016 at 09:19 PM. |
