Default Yellowdatsuns SCx10-2 build

I'll spare you the tedious chassis build part, and just move straight to the body and accessories. Yeh I know it's a "boring" paint job, but I once owned a 4dr Cherokee sport, so I just HAD to paint it in the same color. The wheel arches are painted on the outside.

WWE wresteling man. This guy came with a fly fishing jacket, no idea why, but it fit the build perfectly. He sits on an aluminum chair bolted to the back of the receiver box, and has a zip-tie seatbelt.

Now, all the things needed for a camping/exploring trip.

Big whip CB antennae w/red flag, bbq grill, propane, a keg, cooler, portable welder, 2 gas cans, a spare tire, and a faux winch. Not sure if I have the patience to do the whole scale winching thing.

Running a Tekin brushed crawler setup with a 30T motor. Never thought I'd ever go back to a brushed motor.

Nice. I like how you added a driver without full interior. I might do the same thing to mine.

Yeh I didn't want to build a fiul interior, but wanted a driver for the scale realistic aspect. I got the driver at Walmart, and bent the aluminum seat in the garage. It's held to the receiver box with two screws. I may make a more realistic seatbelt with a shoulder harness. These WWE drivers seem to be just about the right size, but most have on dumb wrestling clothes. I could only find this guy in a two-pack, and the other guy needs a shirt if I were to use him. Not sure where to get clothes for them though, too small for barbie stuff.

For not being a dedicated serious crawler, it has so crazy axle articulation:

Added some mud flaps. There's no good way to mount them, no extra material to drill holes anywhere, so mine are just superglued to the rear bumper.

Waiting on mounts so I can do the wire from the hood corners to the roof rack, so it doesn't catch on branches, weeds, or whatever.

I have D-rings, some tow rope, and cable, on order, should be here soon.

Added the Axial led bar to the roof rack. I'm not sure if I'm going to power it though, we shall see. Also added a couple of faux reverse lights.

Nice build, I still haven't got my hands on a SCX10 II yet. When I do get one, I'm going to paint it like the 2001 XJ that I currently have.

Your on RC10Talk to aren't you?

Made a color appropriate seatbelt, since the red Cherokees usually had gray interiors. I used a shoelace. Seems to look good.

The guy needs a steering wheel yet............

Swapped out the upper led bar with the other lights. The led bar just got buried visually, and the new one is nice and visable.

Just adding so more goodies to the roof rack, like traction aids, tie downs, and scale cable for recovery.

So "Kurt" now has a steering wheel, which is actually a curtain rod thingy. Yes, yes, I know it's not connected to anything, but this was a trial fit, I'll build the rest later. Best part is that it came in a pack of like 10, so I can botch it up 9 times and still be ok.

I like it!

You should solder the twisted wire ends for roof rack so they don't un-twist...if you can without melting anything else. Maybe just a drop of CA and heatshrink tube over the ends?

Where did you buy ten pack of scale steering wheels?

Yeh I thought about soldering the ends of the wire. The only reason I haven't, is because they aren't as tight as I'd like, but its hard to make them any tighter without ripping the front rings out of the body.

As for the rings (steering wheels) I got them at Walmart in the craft section. They have little clasps on them, which you just easily pry off. They're metal, so I'm hoping I can just solder the rest of the wheel parts together.
