Installation was smooth. Everything fit well except (as some have mentioned) the inner bearing was super tight. I had to sand a bit in one axle. I just pushed harder and fought more on the second until it popped in. I had picked up the ARB diffs a while back; but, I have been waiting to install since I thought I would eventually end up with these axles. [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] |

| Re: Xtra Speed axle Hey shawns303, i was wondering if i could get some info on exactly what mods you had to make to fit the ar60 version on your bomber? I realize this is the wrong section but maybe you could throw up a new thread in the bomber section? I looked but didn't find one. If not maybe pm me? Thanx a lot |

Where did you get them for $28 for the pair? I just ordered a set from amazon for 50 shipped. I have a set of currie's and was getting ready to order another set until I came across this thread. Can't beat the price for a second or 3rd build.

Got to test the strength today. Hit a rock with enough speed and force to break the case of my Savox 1230, axle shrugged it off. Sent from my SM-N910P using Tapatalk |

I gotta say, this was a good buy. I had to scrape the paint for the inside pinion bearing. The outside pinion bearing fits a little loose, but a tiny bit of blue locktite fixes the looseness, green lock tight would work best though. Shim the diffs and she good to go.

Just ordered these myself. Pretty crazy, that the only Axial-branded parts I ordered for the "Axial AR44 axle" were the 2,6mm x 12mm screws and the locker/pinion bearings All else was Xtra Speed and SSD. Can the locker be shimmed, or only the pinion gear? Should I by default shim it so that it is as close to the big bearing? Or as close to the spur gear as long as it still runs smoothly? |

Ordered mine on the 12th and they got delivered this morning. Hope to get them installed Monday. Any tips besides scraping the paint for the bearing ?

How are these holding up for everyone? I'm interested if they would last being smashed into rocks.

Well, I ordered mine after seeing some of your all's comments about them. I went ahead and ordered the xtra speed steel driveshafts for the rear and their cvd shafts for the front. Also picked up a set of Samix aluminum steering knuckles as well. Can't wait for them to get here.

Yes, shim both the locker and pinion. On mines with the stock locker and ring, I put a .2mm on the pinion, and .4mm on the locker. The locker was sliding left to right. Shims should go between bearings and locker/ring. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk | |
