Wandering who I should get to weld up the new rear axle for me? Tig aluminum. Always like being able to support vendors here first and showcase the talent that we have available on here. Jerry(DMG) and Shawn(Shooters Fab) have both done fine jobs for me in the past and will possibly be using one of them on these as well but I know Shawn is pretty busy and I'm sure Jerry is as well. If you know a vendor or are one that is as enthusiastic about these scalers as I am, please let them know I'm looking or hit me up. Tryin to get these sent out first of next week. Mind sharing where/how you got the sweet looking "power plant"? I've been thinking of adding something like that to my rig... |

Thanks Clay! Just placed my order. Now comes an inevitable circumstance about RCs, waiting for parts. Tom Petty says it best, it's the hardest part... |

Well the axle housing is sent off to be Tig welded. I also made a blueprint of the shafts and sent it off to have some titanium shafts cut for the rear as well. Just didn't feel comfortable using a lesser grade material on an axle shaft that is 7.4375 long, plus I get to have two more Vendors of the site included on this build. Had to scale up the bolts a little on the axles. Replaced the cap heads with miniature hex hardware. Clear Eyes, Full Hearts, Can't Lose |

Got some stuff from Locked Up RC today as well. Their new scale hubs. Theirs are the shiny ones. The others are some that I got off the wanted section a while back and neither of us know the manufacturer. Bored them out today to work like the new Locked Up hubs. Gonna blast the new ones as well, just to shiny for me. Clear Eyes, Full Hearts, Can't Lose Last edited by CarterFab; 07-16-2012 at 07:14 PM. |

Got my new engine today. Much better in scale appearance. Butterflies are functional, and has braided fuel lines. Now for the electronic guys out there. Is there a way I can hook a servo up that will function when I apply throttle? Want the butterflies to open and close when driving. Clear Eyes, Full Hearts, Can't Lose |

You could even put enough bends in it to contour the header cuz it doesn't have to be linear or especially strong or torquey. You could even thread the link into the engine body right under the header.

I was thinking some thin gauge wire or rod, just need to know if something as simple as a y plug where the esc plugs in to be able hook the servo up, would make it function with the throttle position. Carter Fab & Machine: Hand Made Customs |

Oh no doubt. I didn't even make it that far in my thinking down the chain from the butterflies to the servo. Didn't think about what came after that!
