The 4000+ motors are just too much. The 3000 range has been about perfect.

Thanks, non of my local hobby stores have a Pro4 3300 or the Redline 13.5t. Looks like I might be buying online.

This still recommened http://www.robinsonracing.com/catalog/wraith.html ? According to page 1?

Any recommendations on 32p gear set? I'm thkning something like 54/12 32p. What spur gear works with the wraith tranny?

Where are you finding a 56 spur gear in 32P? Smallest I can find is a 60. Would a 60/12 set up be to high still for a HH 27T torquemaster? I'm currently running the stock 80/20 at John's recommending .

Are you running 3s? You could gear up slightly, like 84/16 also.

Your best bet is going to be running 3s. You need to watch your temps after gearing up.

3s will make a noticeable difference. Try that first

I installed RRP 56/12 gears in my otherwise stock Wraith and love the results, more low end and drag brake but still good speed. The trouble I am having now is the ESC is getting hot and shutting down. Is this related to the gear change or a coincidence? I am running Traxxas 8.4v 3000mah non lipo batts, the only ones I have ever run in this rig with no thermal shutdown before the change.

Any gearing suggestions for a Sindeinder V3 5700Kv 1406 combo?

Oh and I'm going to be running 2.8 Trenchers or 2.8 paddles bashing mostly in mud and trying to drive across mud puddles and creeks. :P

I want to run a MMP with a Tekin 10.5 with a 13.5 rotor on 3S for trail runs and crawling so I want to start experimenting with the DuraTrax 32P 56T Spur Gear #9397, because I know I can still put the cover back on. My question to you guys is:

Who makes a pinion that has the gear mesh area wider than 5mm? I want the pinion to have complete gear engagement on the spur.

The widest RR pinion (0140 14T) I have is only 4.3mm. Some of the Traxxas (3mm shaft) pinions look really wide and they have 12T, 13T and 14T, can someone confirm the width.

Thank you in advance for any help you guys can give me, since I can't seem to get to my LHS before they close.

I don't know, the esc is shutting down (lights on but no steering or throttle, turning the switch off and on resets it for a bit). I will run it and check temps with a digital thermometer. I also installed an aluminum hood and I did notice it was warm to the touch but I was in the sun on a 95 degree day.

I just ran it some at work and it took off at full throttle! I think the ESC has crapped out on me...

So here is what I so far.
MMP with Tekin Pro4 Gen2 3500kv
32P 52/14 gearing.
I plan on running on 3S.

Is the gearing too tall? I'm having a hard time finding 32P pinions. I also have some 48P gears on order 87 spur, with 17,18,19,20 pinion. Finding 5mm pinions seems a little hard.
