| Re: Choosing a motor and ESC for your Wraith - Gearing Added! I ran it last night but could not get the ESC to shut down. The ESC temp was in the 120deg range and the motor in the 180deg range. I put her to bed when I started smelling the hot electrics smell, did not want to let the blue smoke out...

I think this is also some good wraith motor info that should be put somewhere it doesn't get lost. Team RCCrawler Tech Tip: Do I really need a reverse rotation motor in my Wraith? |

I will be running 2s LiPo and would like to keep some wheelspin for mud. What would you recommend? Use stock spur and go down to ~16T pinion? Use 87T spur and ?? pinion? | |

Where is everyone finding the 56t 32P spur? Will the slash kit work from RRP?

Has anyone had any luck running a 10.5t sensored brushless and been able to keep the heat down? I'm currently at 5.8:1but I'm going to shoot for a 7:1 ratio because its getting too hot.

So, i'm rebuilding a used Wraith for a 60/40 split of crawling/trail and can't decide what motor type to use? Cheap option would be a 13t crawl master cause i already have a brxl esc but i also like the idea of the minimal maintenance of brushless power, i read the first post and noticed there is no "Good crawling - ok speed" option for brushless motors. Obvisously it could be because Harley has not found 1 or there isn't 1? My question is, Is there a motor in the 17.5t or 21.5t range that fits into this category? Thanks, Greg. |

Considering the Novak Crusher 18.5T combo for my Wraith. Like the fact it's rated up to 4S. Thinking that running it on 2S would be great for crawling and then on 4S for high speed bashing. Only thing I'm hesitant about is if I'd be able to get away with the same gearing. Wanting enough wheel speed with 2S but also to be in a safe temp range when running on 4S. Plan for 4S is to run a battery up front and one in the rear stock location and when 2S just in the front. Would I be disappointed considering with 2S I'd probably be a little undergeared? |

The only way to get the best possible out of both crawling and speed "on the fly" is a rc 2speed gearbox. Sent from my LT25i using Tapatalk 2 |

Not looking so much for "on the fly". Just want to have different driving styles by changing my battery setup. Lightweight 2S for crawling and heavy 4S for bashing/mudding. Novak replied to an inquire of mine for gearing with 2S and 4S and said that no matter the gearing it would run hot on 4S. So basically the whole 4S capability is a gimmick. Lame lame lame... |

Hi there i am looking for a good quality x low budget sensored motor to pair up with a wraith, i am leaning on viper 13.5t 2400kv for its price and because its sensored also. will this be a good motor? Viper RC VST 13 5T Super Stock Class Sensored Brushless Motor 8VST135001 | eBay I will run 2s lipo 40c or 4s lipo plugged in series to go on sand uphills also. Or do you think its best i go with the 17.5t or the 10.5? Do you think i will nedd to change the stock spur and pinion and put a bigger one for example 87t spur and 16t pinion for better low end, or this motor will already give that without heating issues? thanks for your times best regards to you all.
