| ~Freedom~ I have had my RTR Wraith for a few months now. Most of its life has been sitting on my shelf waiting for transformation into a real rig rather than a basher. So far all I have done is added some lights. Wraith Baja Lights "RPM Roof Mount Light Bar" I have been collecting parts and figure I have enough to start on this. The theme will be Red, White and Blue. Here is the build list. BRXL (AE-2 for now) HH 30T (Stock 20t for now) 7955TG (Ready for install) XHD Aluminum No slop lockers (Read for install) Alumium Chubs/Knuckles (Christmas?) RC4WD Magnum Beedlock wheels (Ready for install) ProLine TSL Swampers (Ready for install) VP CMS (Ready for install) VP Panhard (Ready for install) Custom home made links (Made and ready for install) Relocate battery to the front (Done) Rear electric box (Ready for install) Servo winch (Ready for install) CC BEC (Ready for install) Custom painted body (Ongoing) I will update the build with pics as I move along. Thanks for looking |

Put in some work this morning. Installed my home made steering and suspension links. Used 8/32 all thread with 1/4" brake line sleeves. Used Jato ends on the suspension links and Revo ends for the steering. Front suspension is a VP Panhard with 3 link. Also a VP CMS to round it out. I changed the rear upper link mount location. My goal was to reduce the overall twist of the rig. It also eliminates the need to have bent upper links. Mounted the rear Radio Shack Project box. I drilled two screw holes in the bottom of the box and screwed it into the mount holes on the lower rear brace. Solid and secure. I plan on installing an inverted servo winch in the rear of the box. Should be trick and will work front and rear. Also mounted up my TSLs to the Magnums. What do you think? More to come soon. |

Here is the ESC and my under hood battery spot. Used a CKRC battery plate. Also a front view of the rig. Changed the headlight housings too.

| Re: ~Freedom~ Well, I was skeptical after all the negative feedback about CKRC. The plate fit fine but has a slight buldge where the plate touches the spur gear cover (does not cause a problem with function.) The plate did not need to be trimmed, but i cut off some of the front so I could slide back my CMS 7955 servo. It gives a clean finish and I like it. Would I buy another? Yes. Good cheap product that would drive me nuts trying to make myself. |

I decided to pull my Goat2s out of my 1.9 scaler since I will be running it in an Overland Challenge and expect to get pretty wet and muddy. Its all waterproofed but I know the Sensored Brushless is very sensative to moisture. With the Goat2s and 18.5T brushless I thought it might work well in the Wraith. I didnt think I would be able to put the ESC in the front where I had the previous one mounted but with some skilled wiring it fit just right. I know lots of people dont like the Novak for crawling but I think it works just fine. The Drag Brake holds no problem and it is smooth as butter from crawling to wide open. I am running a 18 pinion and 80 spur. I dont need as much top speed and like the precision at the crawling end. I will get some pics posted when its daylight. |

Just couldn't take the loss of wheel speed with the 18 tooth pinion I switched back to the 20. Seems to cog when starting with the wheels bound up so I have to just get use to bring a little trigger happy right from the stand still to get going. The rig handles perfect with this new combo.

So you went from an 18 tooth to a 20 tooth pinion and you get cogging. Wow I would not think that would happen. I could see 25t pinion but not that small. I am glad you like the way your wraith handles. I have the same motor/esc. It came with a trade. I will have to play with it a bit. Thanks for the info Evan |

Ok, well I figured out why I was having so much crawl speed issues with the 20t pinion. The throtle curve was turned down on my TX so that caused that. Now it crawls amazing and has great wheel speed. Performance is awesome, and it is freakin quiet. Here are some pictures of the under hood with the battery and ESC mounted. And how I routed the wires under the battery plate. My rear electronics box. And how it stands now. Still working on the body and paint so the stock panels will do for now. |

Rig looks great! I have one question about the rear upper link mount location. Are they just screwed into the plastic? I don't see them holding up long if so. Those ft and rr, are my most abused rod ends so the forces on them are tremendous. It could possibly hold up if you used a machined aluminum rear brace, drilled n tapped, instead of the plastic.

I figure it will hold since the steering servo plate mounts to the same place. We will see in time. I have been letting the kids backyard bash it and jump it and no issues yet. Yes you see a hidden servo winch. Was keeping that under wraps for now(didnt pay attention to what was in the photo) damn! Still trying to work a few things out before I can route my winch line. |
