Took advantage of the weather yesterday and got the trucks out for their maiden voyage. I have to say, for the pure fun factor these are my favorite RC rigs to date. Combination of jumping and climbing, and I was surprised how well they do on the rocks. Really think I am going to like this. Bought a third roller for my youngest son, feeding the addiction as usual.

Well, did a few more mods to mine.

I removed the front lights and flipped the front bar over the hood. Not sure if I'll leave it that way or not. Also trimmed up the front bumper into more of a stinger style. Looks good with the CMS. Also added VP Ti upper links. Did the fastback cage mod, still need to trim up where I removed the bar to smooth it out, but I really like how it looks now. Still up in the air about the PowerStrokes though. I may go back to the Axials and see if I like the increase in height. It just seems like with the CMS there isn't much articulation and the travel seems limited a little too much.

Rigs look good. Are you using slash fronts? I got the rears and it bugs me how Pan hard hits.

Yeah, slash fronts. I'm still thing of going back to the longer ones and trying that. Or maybe go with slash rears.

I got mine sitting low with longer ones with 70% droop. I had to flip the rear mount because the extra soft in rears are a little stiff. I think you may like the longer shocks. Enjoy your build

For higher speed handling, it works great. Actually quite stable considering how top heavy these things are. I'm just going to probably start doing more stuff with it (jumping), so thinking some more travel will come in handy.

So, haven't posted anything in this thread in a couple years. Time for an update!

I've gone to a DMG Stiffy TA setup on mine, lowered the stance. I'm going to ditch the CMS and go to a Dinky axle-mounted servo to get my articulation back. We've put MMP/Tekin Redline 13.5/3S combos in all three rigs. Going for a Recon G6 setup, still a work in progress.

We also added a third rig to the bunch for my youngest son. A little trail carnage from the G6 run we did over the weekend. Time to tear it down and upgrade!

OK, so decided to ditch the CMS on my rig and go back to a 4-link setup to try to get some more articulation. Went with a Dinky S-link and added Duuude risers.

After rotating the upper links (basically eliminating the bend), I think it's as good as I'm going to get with the dropped stance. I like the stability and lower CG, so I guess I have to live with it.

I haven't run them enough to say so, to be honest, but so far the fronts seem great. The rears I think are leaking a bit. Not sure if its because they are unsprung or that I landed hard on the tail.

Sorry to just but in like this.
I have gmade piggybacks on my exo Terra that I bash and jump with and have had a tiny leak once but nothing major. I have 30wt oil in them so kinda thin, but they still work very well. They have with stood a hell of a beating. I had a redcat tornado s30 that I used to jump and I had bent the shocks on it on a few jumps. The gmade stood up to the jumps and my exo it heavier.
Awesome builds u have there BTW I'm liking urs with the back shortened

Sooooo, I guess I couldn't live with the short travel cycle. Back to stock shock mounts on the front! I like the extra travel now, and since we seem to be using them more as a G6 style rig with some rock crawling, it'll handle tons better.

Now I have the holes in my hood, though.....

Also swapped out the shoes. Went with RC4WD Iroks on 1" VP wheels, little narrower hub to narrow it up a smidge. These tires are tall and sticky! Should be fun on the rocks now.

Awesome looking rigs for you and your sons! Going to have to look into those RC4WD Iroks. My stock tires are starting to wear down.
