I bought the SSD wraith steering link and its great. It makes the Vanquish version look bad. The SSD link not only looks better it preforms better! I am about to buy another one from RPP right now =)

Generally bad form to drag a 2nd vendor into a vendors post but seeing as the comparison to VP was made, for my spending money I'll take the M4 VP over M3 any other option.
I do however like that the SSD supplied hardware is button head for the tie rod ends. Those dam socket heads VP use don't help tire clearence.

The SSD product line is looking great.

The stock motor cover does fit though.
I dont understand how this can be doesnt the VP motor plate use the exact same mounting holes as the stock plastic one does? I see that its only two holes that would line up with your trans if we were to use a stock cover but wouldn't that be the same for the VP one?

The only reason I ask is because I know there are some trans forward options that people make and they use the cover holes for mounting up. (I.E. GCMs and Toyzukis)

Great products by the way and thank you for making the lower gear two part I cant stand one piece main gears!

Looks like the middle gear is bigger which spreads the holes apart.

The VP gear guard mounts to the VP motor plate which mounts to the stock transmission case.

The SSD transmission case does not have the same mounting points for the motor plate. However the SSD motor plate does have the mounting holes for the stock Axial gear cover.

Hope that helps.

I ordered a tranny yesterday at work when I saw it under the new products thread. Will I still be able to achieve a good slow crawl ratio with the tranny?

What is the output ratio if the tranny compared to stock? I could probably do the math if I counted the teeth on the gears in the pics but my eyes aren't that good anymore!

It's 1.8:1, bottom gear is probably 36 tooth.

I would also like to know this answer too. Im ready to pull the trigger on one but if it will defeat my purpose of a slow crawler with a 5.8 ratio I use just for rock crawling, well than I cant use this. Unless I buy it just for the bad @ss transmission case.

That puts it around the high gear of the ax2 tranny. I don't have one if those but given a stock ratio of 2.6:1 that is a boost.

It's a lot higher than I would want for a single-speed crawler, but it would be nice as a second gear in a two-speed and for those looking for more speed from their Wraith.

If you change to 43/13 underdrive gears in your axles your rig will be around 25% faster than the stock setup.

Thanks for the response SSD.... I would suggest that you put this info in the first post. Your tranny would appeal to both go fast and trail crowds. I have a few sets of the UD gears so I'm set. Keep up the killer work. Your products are killing it.

Would also be nice for someone not wanting to run a 2 speed but wanting a faster ratio, run the 43/13 axle gears for a final ratio of 5.95, if you run stock gearing and stock trans, final ratio is 7.59. Options are great now.
