Finally got some work done on the rebuild

Assembled the Axial lightweight gears and titanium shaft, Boca Green Seal bearings throughout, Vanquish Motorplate, transmission case and front link mount:

Next came the Vanquish C-hubs, knuckles and the Axial carbon fiber servo plate.
All assembled using titanium screws and stainless nuts.
Team Brood Limited Edition 35T Double takes center stage

Got the servo mounted as well using a Vanquish servo guard and Robitronic arm.
And I have gone back to the HS7950TH (from the 7980 used earlier) to gain some space to angle the servo towards the axle:

Titanium steering rod and carbon fiber battery mount

Now onto the rear axle........

Got the rear axle assembled as well.

Using the same Axial lightweight gear set and titanium shaft, full Boca Green Seal bearing set, Vanquish transmission case, motorplate, upper link mount and lockouts

The servo plate is the Axial carbon fiber version

I have mainly used titanium screws and stainless nuts on this axle as well:

Hey Bent, I'd sure like to see more of your build. I really like the Forward Bias chassis and your build skills combined with those great photos is a real pleasure.

I'll probably take some pictures later tonight if I can get a few hours of build time in

The new chassis is coming together nicely

Yep....I have a habit of just throwing things together in a hurry

I actually got some time to work on the electronics tonight.

Installed the trusted dual Tekin FXR's, CC BEC and Futaba R614FF on the skid

Shortened every wire down to a minimum to get everything as clean and low in the chassis as possible

Got some more work done today.

Fabricated some Titanium links and installed the electronics.

I'll keep the T1E High clearance rear links that came with the chassis for now. My bender wont bend the nice S-bends that I want, so for now the T1E links stays on.

Some pictures:

How much knuckle weight did you manage to fit? I noticed you had .700 on in the pic and was wondering if you would be able to fit it all.

The .700 is what I have in the pictures with the wheels mounted.

However this is using 600 hubs on a 1" SLW.

I normally run 475 hubs in the front.

This is just to test a few different combinations ahead of tomorrows first test run.

I'll probably end up using 475 hubs though.

With 600 hubs it sits at 11.6" in the front.....never tried it THAT wide before

I got .600 on with 475 hubs. I had to chamfer the inside radius of the ring a little to get rid of the rub.

I'll probably end up running the same.

I ran 475 hubs front and 600 rears for the last couple of months last year and it worked great

Do you run your wheels unweighted ?
Just the knuckle weights ?

That's what I was aiming for as well.

I keep looking at it sitting there with 600 hubs in the front......and it just looks too wide......
Might even change over before tomorrows test and stay with the tested and proven 475/600 combo

I'll post up after the first test run

Sick looking truck and coming along nicely and your photos are great. I apoligize if this has been already been covered. The shocks are Losi I believe, but are they 3.5 or 4?

Thanks

Yep.....the shocks are Losi.

But they have a shorter housing (.9) and a shorter rod (1.0) compared to the standard 4" Losi Crawler shocks.
This lets you keep the shock travel when you limit them internally.
It also lets you do the rod end mod and still keep them relatively short.

Mine are 93mm (3,66") eye to eye
