Im using the dual FXR on the XR10 ..

Also running the castle 10a bec ..

Do i need to take out the red wire from the esc to the receiver since im running the the external bec ? ... or it does't matter ?

If you are running the BEC into the RX then yes you need to remove that wire.

Is that on both ESC's or just the one nearest or connected to the BEC

Both. The issue is the difference in voltage between the internal and external BEC's (since ESC's have a BEC built into them). The difference in voltage makes the system want to "even out" and causes backfeeding of some sort and can/will fry the internal BEC of the ESC.

Thanks Man ! .

I'd power up with the red wire not removed.

Its all turn on but the on off switch on both esc just not functioning and somehow i figure out something is not right .

Remove both red wire and was lucky for not be able to witness the white smoke on these 200 bucks esc !

NOTE: ALL of these answers were found either in this thread, or in your owners manual. The only SEARCH that I did was for the "DIG WIRING DIAGRAM" and the first page of results had MANY answers to your question. Please start using the SEARCH feature of RCC.

With a DX3r and a Single ESC, you need either a homemade dig switch, or a Punk Dig Switch

Dig Wiring (Punk Dig Example): Search "Punk Dig Wiring Diagram"
Wiring Diagram for Punk Dig and BEC

Recommended ESC: SEE POST #1

Battery Mount Info: READ POST #7

Battery Size Stock Chassis Mount: Page 3 of the XR10 Manual 30mm x 25mm x 90mm

Battery Recommendations Stock Chassis Mount: High C Rating - Pick a reputable vendor.

MY Battery Recommendation: See Post #7 and run a smaller battery out of the chassis....and remove the stock mount.

Just got my Hotwire in the mail to set up the FRXs. wondering if anyone is prepared to share their setup or is it all top secret stuff and trial and error? there are no setup sheets on the website for crawlers so wanted to know how or what was the best setup to go for?

Hotwire profiles must be the holy grail as no one wants to share any info on them it seems.
