As far as I can tell the only way to change the mmp setting for motor direction requires the castlelink s/w.

Almost done, need to create the skins for the body panels and install the rear MIP driveshaft.

My only concern is a griding sound, I'm not sure if it comes from the pinion/spur or the transmission (rear axle doesn't seem to be the problem)
Thanks for the help

Could it also be the spur/pinion spacing with the RRP spur gear?

The Yeti made it to California and I took it for a quick ride yesterday. As I was able to reverse the ESC with the CC field programer, it is still faster going reverse than forward, I might consider buying the SSD as I don't find any solution.
What 3S battery guys use? runtime on 2S with a 4200mA pack is less than 8 minutes (that's the only battery pack I've bring here)

For all around value and performance, I find that SMC Racing or SPC Racing are the best. I use their batteries for pretty much all my RC vehicles.

3S 7200 MaH batteries from them are $60-$65.

What radio are you using? I had a similar issue when I flipped my motor direction with my Tekin RX8.
I ended up switching the direction on my radio for throttle and that seemed to work.

Thanks for the tip hobbez84
@Hfrajuncajun, it's a simple Futaba 3PL, I first reversed the throttle from the radio, it doesn't really work since you get the small lag from when you go in reverse (doesn't sound really clear).

I'm not sure then, sorry.

I'm using a Spektrum DX3E, but I sometimes do have an issue with it not going into reverse from a stand still. Yet the ESC says it's receiving the reverse signal which leads me to believe it's an ESC issue.

You may have to double check your output percentages? I don't see why if it is reversed why it would give you throttle delay.

It also seems like your runtime is way low...which leads me to believe it is something else.

So I gave up on the Vanquish and the reverse gears thing.
I bought the SSD rear axle. One of the front gearbox screw was stripped and since I don't have my Dremel here, I went to a RC track in Irvine hopping someone would have one. Only one person was there, didn't have a Dremel but suggested OCRC in Huntington Beach because there were a race. Track owner has a Dremel, front gears are reversed now. I tried the truck on their smaller track. First 3 laps are a complete disaster, the car is sitting way too high, it nose dives at every jump, but after setting the ride height right and putting more speed before jumps, it does OK. 2S is perfect for this track (I'm not sure I'd be able to control it with a 3S pack)

- It's been almost 20 years I haven't been on an off-road track but it jumps decently for its weight
- High speed cornering is OK, just flipped once.
- Tight corners with the front open diff are almost OK but I need to put less drag brake on the ESC)
- There is still this horrible grinding noise when I brake (I need to check the gear mesh)
- 3 shocks are leaking and I've bent the front aluminium upper link (how can I fix the leaking on those stock kit shocks?)
- I get 10 minutes of run time with the 2S 4200mAh pack, I guess it's normal

I guess a race track is not its natural element but it was fun!

This is what I did to fix my shocks and it worked great.
my leaky Icon shock fix

Still confused how you had the power issue with the currie. Mine works fine.

Thaks for the tip fr8cture, I'll order it tonight.
As for the Currie, I could not figure out how to reverse my ESC properly, it was still going much faster in reverse.

Faster in reverse usually means the 3 wires between the esc and motor is mixed up. once you confirm all the wires run A-A B-B C-C, then you setup throttle on the transmitter. With the currie axle, you'll need to take one more step and reverse the motor through the esc programming.

ESC/motor cables were in stock position (it didn't work at all actually if I would reverse them)

you cant switch the motor wires with a sensored motor. Thats why it wouldnt work.

EDIT:Nvm see its the stock motor.

I haven't read the whole thread, so forgive me if I missed what motor and esc combo that your using, but if your on the RTR motor ESC combo, then something is definitely wrong. I get 30+ minutes out of my 4000mah pack. My back yard isn't huge, so full throttle time is minimal. 10 minutes just seems to low.

On a side note your Yeti looks bad ass. One of the best I've seen.

It's a Holmes 540 Puller with MMP.
