Droop may not be the best word but it looks like its lacking travel for sure. Here's a couple pics of my shocks @ ride height, full extension, and compression. Does the suspension travel smoothly? Is anything binding? Here are those same shocks on the rear of a Wraith. Thanks for the pics, they help.
I futzed with the sway bar, seems to help a little. Plus the shocks may not be filled properly...gonna check them tomorrow.

So I have to use the longer plastic body posts bending them slightly to attach the cage because the Luxury panels aren’t a perfect fit and the reservoirs just barely clear the cage. Ordering power plant tomorrow :ror:

What gearing will you be using? Would you not want to run 4s with the 2100kv motor and the MMX?

I'm a novice at brushless motors myself, but as I understand it, the motor rpm is a factor of the kv rating and the battery voltage.

I got the impression earlier in this thread that you wanted some speed (vs crawling); if you are looking at getting the wheel speed of what you would get with a 3s battery and a 3xxx kv motor you will need to gear up or volt up (go to 4s) with this motor.

Someone more knowledgeable can chime in if I've missed something here.

4s will still be well below 50,000 rpm max spec’d for 540XL 2100KV
Ordered SMC Factory Spec 14.8V 5600mAh 60C
Motor should be efficient and not overheat.
Recommendations on gearing?

Set up and programming I should be okay. Not sure what to do with the auxiliary wire and this is my first sensored motor.

for the yeti the rock racer/crawler mode is really nice. i have set it to a seperate channel so i have up to 20% dragbrake race over crawler mode. some hock it to the shifter so 1. gear crawler and 2. gear race mode. crawler mode fwd / rev race fwd / break / rev.

regarding gearing start with the planned stock gearing 16/64, but you can go up with pinion i run the 3800kv on 3s with 19/64 no issues. take a temp gun to check temp while testing.

Had to butcher the battery tray in order to accommodate the sensor wire and give the two speed linkage room to move. Probably will end up using Velcro straps to secure battery. So far it’s rolling smoothly on the floor :mrgreen:

With the 2-speed and 4s power you probably have enough flexibility to just start with what you have, and go from there.

I can imagine using the data logs from the MMX for temperatures and motor RPM to fine tune things, but I'd start with just getting it out there, and see if you can manage the wheel spin. :)

As for sensored, the connectors are not waterproof, so make sure you've coated them well with dielectric grease. My Tekin motor included a tube of this stuff.

For the aux wire, I recommend connecting it in parallel with the servo for the two-speed transmission. This way you should not find yourself accidentally letting off the throttle on a speed run, expecting the truck to coast to a stop, only to find that the drag brake engages instead. :shock:

Test it first, but I expect that this will require a servo reverser such as the Expert Electronics EXRA320 with integrated y-cable. The reverser is needed if the third channel engages crawler mode on the ESC while shifting into high gear.

If you find that you don't need the reverser, you can make or buy a simple y-cable.

Ugh!! Was MMX a stoopid:cry: purchase? It won’t fit on either ESC mount. I’m looking for creative help.
I could always use it in one of my YXL’s but really want it for this project.
Some of you have been really helpful (you know who you are) , searched but could find a solution.

It's probably overkill for the yeti, but then so is 4s and the 2100kv motor. :)
1) use GOOP to fasten the ESC to the flat ESC mount, leaving only the front and one of the side screw holes exposed. There is not a lot of mass here, and two screws should hold it well enough. I only use two screws on my yeti, having made the pan too narrow to use both sides of the mount.

or 2) fasten the flat ESC mount in with three screws, and then attach the ESC to the mount with this stuff, from Home Depot:

+1 use the flat one and then outdoor double sided tape to mount and a zip tie to secure it. i use tesa outdoor tape tesa Powerbond® OUTDOOR - tesa great stuff "thumbsup"

yes the mmx is overkill but i like overkill electronics, cause they never run at their limit :mrgreen:
