I personally do not want to drive to shasta on Memorial Weekend, I think it would add a lot of time to an already long drive. And the camp grounds would be very crowded.

So my first chiose is June 3-6, second May 20 - 23.

I can't go memorial day. I think my 1:1 4x4 club is doing a Rubicon run. Let me check our calender. I think earlier would be better though.

any weekend after momorial day weekend all the camp ground will be completly fild. i live about 50 miles south of shasta. i think the best date would be may 20-23 or earlier maby

That was my reasoning. Besides I've got a 0* bag I could care less what time of year.

I'd rather do it before Memorial Weekend as gas prices might be a tad lower and traffic might be a bit less too.


We really need to find a good location too.....

ya before the memorial day stuff starts would be better for traffic reason and camping reasons..... does anyone have pics of shasta ???? i mena is it worth going there to crawl.... is it a good area???

if shasta doesn,t work i know of a place alittle farther south of mt.shasta. at sugerloaf marina on shast lake. it hasalot of diferant tipes of terains from big rocks to year round mud pits. its got piles of sticks from tho lake riseing and going back out, gravel dirt and little sand hills. and the best part it go camping areas just down the round for any amount of peopl.
