Cooper passed away just before Christmas... almost one year exactly after Roxy. He was a nut but such a good boy. You couldn't ask for a more loyal guardian... I miss him. |

This is Rose. She was a Border Collie mix. This is a 13 year old picture. I had to put her down this past October. I estimate her to have been 18 years old. She was in very poor health. I was in denial and should have put her down a year or two earlier. I sure do miss her. We are getting this little girl at the end of the month when she is weaned. She is an Australian Shepherd. My wife and daughter have named her Daisy. |

Today I was able to save a female street dog from being crushed to death by speeding vehicles. Just half a minute before I saw her some SUV had hit her. She was in middle of the highway with vehicles speeding at 80-100 kmph nearly missing her. Her mouth was bloodied, broken hip and she was not able to get up other than move desperately with her front legs and screaming in agonising pain. As soon as I saw this I knew she was about to get crushed by some vehicle and I immediately got down from my motorcycle and tried to stop the traffic. Managed to slow down a few passing vehicles and tried to get her out of the road but she was in a state of panic and would turn around to bite. Frightened, she dragged herself on to the other side of the highway putting herself in more danger. Risked my life on the other side of the road slowing vehicles. Some bystanders rushed to my help and slowed down the traffic. Meanwhile this dog still in middle of the road not letting anyone touch it. Borrowed a piece of cloth from a near by juice vendor which I used as a muzzle. Two of us lifted her to the side of the highway. I called up Justdial and they got me in contact with people-for-animals (PEOPLE FOR ANIMALS). After couple of calls they sent a team to fetch her. Waited there for an hour and half for them to arrive after which they took her.Saddly, the female dog must be having pups that can't feed themselves. They requested me to do a local search for the pups and call them again. Other sad part is, the people that don't act in situations like these. There were many shop and hotel owners that witnessed the accident but not one took action. Somehow people are able to digest an innocent life about to get killed on the road. Miserable, sad and pathetic attitudes. http://s12.postimg.org/3l5txjd8t/IMG...218_130049.jpg |

It's a disgrace how people do that but I've seen it before. On a lighter note these two are still getting along good. |

At 9 years old I was prepared for Roxy to pass away as my last 2 boxers made it to 9 and that's the average life span. But she seemed so healthy, full of energy and young that I stated thinking she'd make it to 15... she wasn't even turning gray until the very end. After my last dog died of cancer, I fed these two the highest quality, most expensive, pure food I could find... a Canadian brand. She developed cancer too. And Cooper too. | |

The newest addition to our family, Wally. He is a 14 week old mutt we rescued. He came from a high-kill shelter in Mississippi. He is one of 10 in his litter. I think he is part Pit, Boxer and Beagle. He has been great since we got him home. He is a total love-bug and wags his tail at anyone that will say hi to him. The only problem I have is that I think my three cats are plotting his assassination. I'll have to keep an eye on those devious little so and so's. |
