Bout time burger bro. Renault just overhauled their shit to make it not fail as much, so... That happened when RB said they don't need Renault anymore, we can pay for our own stuff. But then didn't.

If Senna could be brought back and put into a modern car, I don't know that anyone could touch him. He will always be my favorite driver from any type of motorsport. Just my $.02 though.

The guys these days are in much better physical shape, and that matters a lot. Talent only gets you so far before it runs out and then physical condition matters. The guys back then would get out of the cars dizzy, nearly blacking out during some corners. Now all they bitch about is a slight neck strain. Just not the same anymore. Reminds me of when I let a few drive my Civic and they got out complaining about their arms. No power steering and fat as **** tires. I was like, what? Can't feel shit. |

They had to be constantly shifting (old skool style), steer one handed, and no power steering back then too. Today's guys and their great shape would wear out too if they had to drive a full race in the old cars. Power steering and flappy paddles go a long way too!

| Re: PeePee's F1 thread I would love to see it though! Take today's field and have them run a full length exhibition race in a late 80's or early 90's car It will never happen though. The safety of the cars has come a long way since then, and no way the teams would allow their stars to be put at risk for such an event. Still would be cool! |

| Re: PeePee's F1 thread Renault has the daunting task of not impairing the function of a Newey device. No pressure gents. German owner and Brit tech won't tolerate weak French oomph for another season. Hell, Merc was the only PU to spin 13K last year from what I recall seeing on car displays. In support of something French, GRO can drive dammit. I hope his rig doesn't fail him this year. He's the 2013 ROC champ dag nabbit!

Great sentence. Mission impossible. I would have shelved GRO mid season last year. But then again, compared to Crashdanardo... He's literally driving for his seat. Can't believe they brought him back in, UNLESS!!! Eric Boullier (another Frenchie BTW) set it up to keep his seat cause he knew he was leaving. And that's funny.

I'll scan them later. Here's some from a Mercedes engine, they were all the same in layout. |

Why the hell do they show practice lap-time sheets sorted by lap time? Sort the damn thing on tire compound then time. Merc is killing it on the meds. They are the fastest. Dudes on SS are maxed out. Feel better now. J |

I agree, but it's raw speed. But that really doesn't hold water because it's practice. Windsor did a good video about changes. I'll post it. |

It's all up to Kimi... and Vettel, I guess. And Kimi is happy with his car. A happy Kimi is a fast Kimi™. He can race with the best. Lotus might be fast with their Merc power now, but who's driving? As much as I wanted to see Honda bring it, it's not looking like it's gonna happen this year. Hope I'm wrong. I mean, there is no denying ALO has the best race craft of em all, though HAM will argue that. BUT is who is he is... ROS is fast, we all know that, but he lacks when it matters... get him out in front and he's fine. Must be nice having a car in a field of its own. And nevermind the two stunts he pulled last year... |

I agree. I hope GRO gets into the RIC/MAS/BOT scrum this year. I still see VET and RAI as chasing the B group with Merc (A) winning many races in Q3. Hopefully the price of brent crude pressures the economy of Venezuela to the point that Crashtor loses funding and someone else gets a Lotus spot next year. It will be interesting to see if McL can turn around a disasterous test season and eventually kick ass just as RB did last year. Tall order as they lack a Newey Device. From Sky...Red Bull boss Christian Horner to SSNHQ's Rachel Brookes: "Looking at that Mercedes time is a little depressing. Hopefully they're not running around with 80 kilos of fuel to do that. "I suppose it is about where they are at the moment. They've been running relatively conservatively throughout the testing, but have obviously just started to wind it up a bit and you can see the performance gap is pretty ominous. It looks pretty tight behind them, but they seem to have quite a gap at the moment." J Last edited by SkaldidDog; 02-27-2015 at 10:08 AM. |

Should be good stuff between MAS and RIC, and oh yeah, BOT. I always forget about him. Think Ferrari is gonna be chasing them? Crashdanardo Edit for your edit: Horner sounds depressed. Newey Device and all that... |

Ferrari and McL may be duking it out to catch the leaders of Group B. Don't rule out them being lapped by Merc at some point early in the season. J
