Here's a cool pic AND a cool story! We were riding the Waverunners across the mouth of the Cape Fear River where it meets the Atlantic today, running about 20 mph, when something smacked me in the ribs on my right side. I spun around to see what the hell hit me and saw this 14" sea mullet flopping around in the footwell. Nothing like fishing with no rod/reel, no tackle and no bait!!  |

Not that cool of a pic but kinda neat. My wife... the woman that as I've mentioned before, used to be such a girly-girl back when we met some years ago... was outside today and came back in holding a nice sized snake-skin to show me. I'm familiar with the snake that this skin is from... seen it many times in or around our detached garage over the years but man has it grown! This slough was over 4 1/2 feet long so I guess it's been finding plenty to eat! Anyway... really cool that she's grown to appreciate nature, wildlife, insects, weather, etc.  |

Well we've had rats back there in the past but over the last year or more I haven't seen any, heard any, nor seen any signs. Hopefully this snake ( and friends?) have really had an impact.
