Terry Jones (Florida Pastor) who threatened a riot and possible dead soldiers to make an invalid point.
Spanish Inquisition
Salem Witch Burnings

Just so you know this list is very short...just used to prove my point.
The point I was making is that in this instance, it is members of a faction of a religion that committed the terrorist act in the name of said religion. From what I have read, the individuals involved in this community center are friendly and sympathetic if not linked to the "whackos" that incite and carry out violent acts towards non-believers. It is for that reason I find it disgusting.

I'd support a "Free center of Worship"

that honors and commends good practices of all faiths, and our freedom to do so.

@ this point the guy just seems like a provocateur, looking to make a name or a buck.

But there is nothing wrong with islam.

I can spread hate across all faiths.

I hate terrorists as much as i hate men who boink little boys.

But I dont hate islam or christianity.

From what I have seen, "OP" usually refers to the person who made the first post in the thread...

This country was built on faith. The more we pull Christianity out of everything. The more this country sprails out of control. In God we Trust.

I think a country needs it. Look at countries who have been around 1000's of years longer then we have.

You are correct. People NEED religion.....but not all people can agree on what is the "right" religion.....so, funding one religion with tax dollars is NOT right or fair.

No, people need answers for those questions that we cannot currently answer....religion helps some folks with that....not all, but some.

1. Timothy McVeigh was never officially linked to any religious faction, Christian or otherwise.

2. There are plenty of Christian terrorists in the US and Canada, only we don't hear about them because they're on "our" side and also because "we" don't do that.

3. A major funder for the religious center in NY is also a major shareholder in Fox News. And he's a Muslim. Take THAT you right wingers!

4. In God We Trust. Which one?

5. Islams, Jews, and Christians all worship the same god.

6. Its not ok to put up an Islamic temple near Ground Zero where Islamic extremists killed thousands, but its perfectly fine to put up crosses near and even on the same property where millions of Jews will killed by a Arian/Catholic German?

7. Should we lump Jews into the same category because they don't believe Jesus was who he said he was?

8. This religious center was originally named the "Cordoba House", after an Italian city the Muslims captured long ago. They drove out all the heathens and pagans, allowing only the "followers of the book" (Jews and Christians) to stay.

Pork chops, ribs, pulled pork sammies.

I'm buying the first round for all my "buds" at the terrorist temple in NY!

So Catholics shouldn't be able to breed...that way we could end the epidemic of pedophiles in the church ranks?!?!?!? No because not all church members or officials are pedophiles...we can't blame them all for the actions of those pedophile extremists associated with them.

Condemn those who did the act, not an umbrella towards a group of people who have not been involved and are as innocent as yourself.

In a March, 1996, interview with Time magazine, McVeigh professed his belief in "a God", although he said he had "sort of lost touch with" Catholicism and "I never really picked it up, however I do maintain core beliefs."

Hard to compare a limp wristed Catholic with a hard core Muslim. I doubt Jesus told him to blow up a Federal Building in Oklahoma. Or maybe he did.

They are building it there and want the government to pay for it. They have been asked, and offered money to move to a new location. Why should they move? It's a sign of respect. If these groups of Muslims don't want to be compared to the terrorist. Don't build that close to ground zero. Its making a statment. Thats what there doing.

Stating that you don't have a religion. In a way is a religion. You believe to believe or have faith in what you think of the world or God('s)....

Everyone is classified in a group if they like it or not.
