I think it's the hamster belt... gotta lube it up ro make it easier for that little fuzz ball to power that thing.

check the motor mount, tranny mount, anything that will want to move/twist when the drivetrain/rear end is wanting to rotate under decelleration or reverse.

neat car. sounds good. ;)

Thanks guys. Hoopty I see you exactly understand the problem circumstances this happens at. I'll be checking all these points mentioned in this thread. Rained most of the day today. Supposed to rain all day tomorrow.
That's funny Johnny. I'll check the hamster wheel belt when I find it lol. I'll be a lot happier soon as I find this noise gremlin and get the real diff and trans fluid changed.

Also I reset my trip meter on the last top off. Filled up after 250 miles today and I'm avg 29.4mpg!! 1/4 in town and some playing around in there.
Thanks for the input guys. It's well recieved.

Nope. No changes in the rain.

As fast as the sound cycles I'm inclined to say its a driveline issue. Something wheel/brake related wouldn't cycle so fast but the driveline rotates roughly 4 times faster than the tires do.

Awesome. I did search a lot on miata forums. Missed that one. Joined mx5nutz too and posed the issue there as well. That guy has the exact same issue described.

Cars so low I can't even reach the front ujoint with a spray can and penetrating lube aerosol laying down lol. I'll have it on ramps soon. Be even greater if it's got grease certs. I sprayed the rear ujoint with the spray can lube and no change after a short trip up town so far. The two tire drive shafts are booted and all 4 boots are intact still.

Spraying it with lube won't change anything.

Does the car have any odd fast pulsing vibrations under hard acceleration or at the moment between acceleration and deceleration when you are lifting your foot off the pedal?

Default Car prob question. (Vid included)

It'll shut it up till I get new ujoints ordered Haha. And no there's no vibration, shudder, or clunking whatsoever I'd expect from it being excessively worn. I've had wallered out ones before, even busted one I knew was bad on a 4wd front while hauling wood. It usually is pretty obvious. I'm about 98% sure the roller bearings in one one of the ujoints is dry now.

That could be the tricky part, Dad built wood ramps fo my Sister's Charger since even stock.it sits so low that our current two part ramps (the ramp is separate from the part you park the car on) would drag on the bumpers when trying to drive up on them, basically it's like a booster step to get the car on the ramp............

If the dealer wasn't doing all the service work on my 200 for less than I could do it for myself, that car would likely need the booster ramps too

That is exactly what I had in mind after seeing the video.

The second squeak sounds when the wheel has turned 1/4th turn.

Got under there today. Front ujoint is dry I believe. Some black residue on it. Sprayed the heck out of both with penetrating lube. Since I had it up I went ahead and changed the rear diff fluid. Looked pretty new. Only lightly brown and clear. Cleaned the magnetic plug( nearly nothing on it) and the top plug. Replaced bottom-filled In the top till it came out- and screwed the top plug back in.

dude… go get some cheap jackstands. that car is definitely heavy enough to squish you if you are under it and that 2x or bottle jack happened to kicked out.

Yea I admit it wasn't my best move. The rear was on car ramps, in gear, and ebrake engaged. I felt confident enough to sneak under there for 3mins or so the jack on the far side is actually a hydraulic scissor jack and a jack stand. Has a pin slide through. I had to share this bit of backyard don't do! I do need a couple stands for this kinda stuff, But heck I need them like once a year.

If u don't have jack stands.Use cendar blocks or wood blocks under tires.
And also if it is u-joints it will clank or thud when you first let off of the clutch. And then when it gets a little pressure on them it will stop unless they are about to fall out completely.
