I'm feeling it...the influx of all these cool rigs hitting at once, and the lack of time, space, etc. to tackle them all at once!

Must... thin out... fleet...... NO! You must...... NOOOOO!!!!!

What can I put up on ebay now....

Lol, c’mon dudes, I wanna see what you do with this thing! And after your brilliant/insane summer of building crazy one-offs a, a prerunner is gonna be just playtime.

Shinchu, I saw you looking at this the very first time I found this wonderful website. If I had a million dollars I’d buy one for you now.

SalmonFaced -pictures you took are money. Totally perfect.

JayEm and TooOldforThis—-thanks for the motor/tranny ideas. Also, that red metallic paint is best in show.

FXman... no wait, you’re best in show.

In regard to picking up a Rampage Pro...Is it a hoot to drive? Is there anything I should steal off the Slash Before it goes on EBay? Maybe that TQi if it’s pretty squirrely? Last silly thing before bed... Soze, your Mog build got me in the car to buy one four days ago. Would you tell me if you put it on EBay? I’m a dork and want to watch the bidding

Thank you guys! I know the hubs aren’t at home on a 2wd truck. I threw them on to give some color to the black wheel. I had them in the parts bin. I’ve ordered some blue wheels nuts to replace them.

First post, so please go easy!

I just picked up on of these the other day. Still scratching my head over what power plant to put into it.

Manual seems to recommend 13.5T BL as the fastest it will support - what are others using in theirs?

I'm just after some reasonable speed on the 1/8th track here (plus a bit of woodland bashing I imagine). Was thinking 10.5T but that might be too hot. Also, no point in going 4-pole with a 2WD, is there?

4-pole-anything will be overpowered. It’s 2wd, so it needs good, controllable power to prevent it from just doing doughnuts until the gears give out. (Been there, done that. Only controllable with AVC, or some tweaking of initial power / acceleration on the ESC. The turnigy I use as an ESC, is set at ‘soft’ . Say, 50 to 60% initial power.) Once rolling it’ll keep tracking pretty well, due to the swaybars working overtime.

If one would ask my advise, I’d say ‘10.5 t sensored max” . It’s not exactly a “high performance car” For hard bashing, flips and the sorts, there are way better choices. Even a rere Javelin runs circles around it. However, for that ‘scale feeling’ in driving, it’s imho among the best.

But, that’s just, like, my opinion, man..

Lovely, thanks!

I'll be using it as a scale runner, not a hard-core basher (that's not really my thing). I've got a couple of gyro-enabled Rx units so was planning on using one of those, plus i'll chuck a HobbyWing ESC in there so I can program it appropriately.

Aw shucks, mister...
What if you had like... Five hundred? Lol
Thanks though I appreciate the gesture. I do still want one of these I just have a LOT going on right now.
Still waiting on insurance to put my kitchen back together after a slab leak. Fast food for your whole family for almost 2 months every single day starts to wear on you...
Anyway yeah I have plans for this thing...
Look at my signature and think what a baja 79 ford with a SHREDDY motif/livery might look like... ;)

Really need some sort of go-fast since I sold my yeti to get my enduro. Then this drops on the market like a week later lol

Soze I feel ya buddy I need to slang some stuff on the bay!!! Again!!!! Haha it never ends does it.

Just got one. Just want to use it for simple scale running/bashing. What do yall think of just running a HH brushed 540 20t?

Should be fine. Truck really doesn't need a lot of power imo....

Yeah going to try to set it up for small spaces (small back yard) with the wheels being 1.9 what other tire options are out there other than soft crawler tires? Got it all put together, I must say after 15 plus years wrenching on RC's this is my first Kyosho kit. Screams quality. I hope they keep this rig going.

I don’t think there are other wheel choices. They’re an odd size. Crawler wheels with very hard foams might work. Kyosho DB wheels look too wide, somehow, but work.

I feel the wheels and tires are exactly right, though. Just enough traction to not spin endlessly, but also not as bitey as to make the truck into a tumbleweed at every corner. Though, don’t drive it like ye average bashing/SC truck. Its center of gravity is high, and some consideration in cornering is necessary.

It drives, well, ‘scale’ for lack of a better description. Once on topspeed it goes like a rocket, whatever the surface, but watch the corners.

What gearing? I think I'm just gonna drop a 20t brushed Holmes Hobbies 540 in it. Haven't run it yet.

For 13.5t BL, 18tooth, or 19tooth instead of the provided 16 will do just fine.
For a20t brushed, I’d keep it at 18tooth. At least that gave the best performance without overheating, with the Kyosho G20 motor I tested. 19t will also work, but keep an eye on the temp.
