If anyone is game, our comp is Sep 20th. We'll be barbequeing and such. The course's are great and lots of other play lines after the comp. We're pretty laid back, should be fun. Camping is'nt to far away at Rifle Gap,Rifle Falls,or just head for the high country.

Is it still set for Oct. 4th? I coach my son's soccer team but have an assistant that could coach that Saturday and I WILL make it! Ya'll in terrible trouble now.

So I am starting to make plans for this Oct 4th :-P and telling people about it. For the people who suggested Buena Vista, do we have a good spot picked out for it so I can post it on the board here at the racetrack in Grand Junction?

Is there anything that us Western guys can bring? We have a whole competition setup kit with stopwatches, clipboards and tennis balls. If there is anything else I can do to help prepare for this event, please do not hesitate to let me know.

Chinaman's Gulch OR Carnage Gulch 4x4 Trails area - south of Buenie east of Johnson Village why 85/24....... Plenty of space for people to camp out, we just have to stay off the main trail or the 1:1's will squash the lil guys.... We could also watch some of the hard core crawlers and wannabees try Carnage out. Good fun watching rigs bomb shell parts. If you don't know where that is I can do directions. Chinamans type outcrops. South of that is the Ruby Mtn. Campground. On the east side of the camp is a road that heads into BLM land and a trail system. Plenty of rock outcrops up there, I have crawled in the area on a couple of occasions. Volcanic rocks (pretty sticky) to Granite - slicker than snott. Or, some of the other areas back west of the hwy, toward Mt. Antero and the others... In Buenie, what about the park on the east side of town, I think there are some rocks over there, but not sure if they are crawler types.... The kayaker crowd may have slowed down some and there is a good parking spot. Last edited by Mule; 09-15-2008 at 03:11 PM. Reason: add | |

How far south of Buena Vista are these sites? The closer to Buena Vista the better! Also, the group that is wanting to make the King of Colorado trophies might want to start getting these ready. Oct 4th is just around the corner. |

Guys I have been waiting to hear back from BLM regarding getting a permit and so on, and still nothing. I don't think the October 4th idea is going to work for this right now. |
