can i get a judgement on a body mod i did - i kinda stole brads mod: is this a class 1 or 2 mod? im trying to keep her class 1. Mine does not have a full interior and the rear window has been moved to the back of the cab - essentially a notch back (id take a picture but its at home and im at work) |

I would consider that removal of a hardtop and call the body class 1 legal, but it must have an interior to qualify. This also does not include any other specs for class 1, but if your body looks like Brad's it will be class 1 legal.

Spent yesterday working on Guido. Poor guy is beat to hell after running with the Wraiths and the TTC series. Pepe is torn apart and needs much love also. I think I'll just run Guido for now and work on a new rig. I agree with Juan, the scale points should be applied per course, or 1/2 the points per course, to make them worth having at all. 20 seconds off for the entire event (50 pts for Guido, 30 points for some other rig) does not make up for Guido's performance handicap. But it depends on what you want to promote, over the top scale builds or performance oriented rigs. Guido is a concourse rig all the way, I made my bed and will sleep in it regardless of what the rules promote. I just wish there was an easy way to lose some weight on him. |

20 seconds is a long time though when we are talking about the Rally style. When we did it at RR, the only reason there were gaps bigger then that was because people made stupid mistakes or were not willing to push themselves (not the rig, but literally themselves). The other reason that time gaps were larger were broken parts. With the rally style courses, its not about technical courses, its about not making mistakes and pushing yourself as a driver. The length of the courses lends to the gaps in time, but I don't think it matters all that much how scale the rig is. We are only going to do a couple of this style though, most of the events will be traditional rock crawling. Plus Griz I saw Guido in the TTC events, it never did bad. No excuses! As far as the SORCCA course we will be using their format for awarding scale points as 1/2 for each course. |

Technical crawling is where Guido suffers most, although the 4ws will help that quite a bit I think. If the SORRCA 1/2 scale points per course are applied then I think that is fair. Otherwise I agree with you, in less technical rally-type stuff he is not too far off the mark. Not complaining, just discussing. Looking forward to getting going. |

Wish I had time to build a class 1 and 3 truck. I'll just have to be happy with my class 2 and maybe get something together towards the end of the series.

I think if you tuck the wires in so we can't see them through the windows it is a class one rig. Because of the back window you put in and the roof over the cab area I guess it is only a partial top removal and the area removed looks like it has an interior for the exposed area. |

I see it the same as starting with a Blazer or Bronco and putting a half cab on. There is still an enclosed cab, it's just basically turned into a pickup truck, a 4 door pickup truck in this case. I don't think the "bed" ineeds to be covered, unless you have electronics under there, but I agree with Turtle that it should be class 1 legal. |
