I was thinking the same thing. What type of link set-up is he using? Something is keeping it way too stiff, just my thoughts though.

Default Comp.

Count me in, this will be my first comp. and first time out to meet any of you.
10/08/05 Sat. at Folsom Lake right? What time?
My best friend lives in Roseville, so I will stay with him, since I will be traveling up from central CA.
I will be bringing my TXT-1 with custom Maxx axles.
Also I will bring a spare set of TXT-1 axles and wheels if anyone is interested in buying them complete.
Sounds like a great spot, will need directions from 50 / sunrise blvd.

there's a gas station about a half a mile from the entrance to folsom lake. would you guys just like to meet there? i could get the address of it and all of you that need directions could just use yahoo maps. then once eneryone is there, we could all follow each other into folsom lake.

That's a good idea to start the morning out, but we'll still need directions from there on in. Some people may not show up till later in the day, plus who knows how many people might show. You could easily overflow the gas station parking lot. Just my thoughts. If you could meet in a large, empty most of the time, parking lot, that would work.

10am sound good to me. From Redding I think it will take me about 3 hrs, plus or minus 15 min. It is 2 1/2 hours to the I-5 to highway 80 cutoff, so I'm thinking another 30 min. to 45 min. What do you think?

Default Folsom Comp

Sat. Oct. 8th at 10:00 a.m.

Sounds great to me, just need exact location to meet.

I use http://maps.google.com/ and of course mapquest to find locations.
If anyone hasn't used maps.google yet, it's pretty cool, it can switch to satilite images also, button at top right. I think I located Beals Point, too bad it won't zoom any further to show the rocks.

I'll be leaving my buddies house off of Sunrise and Douglas, so east on Douglas toward lake, should be easy for me.

May bring two or three spectators, with me.

I did a little bit of scouting today. The only thing is that I only got to take pics of Beals Point. The road to Doton's Point was closed for cleaning. Anyways, I got some pics of the meeting place and also an address. Here it is,

Lakeside Beverages
7130 Douglas Blvd,
Granite Bay, California.

unfortunately (sp?) I don't know the zip code. Also, we'll only need the meeting place if we go to Doton's Point or somewhere close to that. Anyways, on the the pics.

This is the meeting place

,

And here's the pics of Beals Point

There is an entrance fee to the park by the way. It's $7.00. And if you want to camp it's $20.00 (kind of pricey (sp?) I know). Once I get pics of Doton's Point we can have a poll or something to see which place we would like to go to.
