I'll get more info tomorrow.

If memory serves me correct, there's an EconoLodge there at the same intersection, as well as a couple of other places.

General rules:
This is a true scale off-road competition. All classes are welcome and all styles. The classes will be broke down into the listing below. There will be two general events for all the classes. A follow the leader course and then a labeled trail that must be followed. The catch here is that if you get stuck you will have to depend on a fellow RC driver from your own class to free you or right you if you flip with his/her rig. We will have a designated rescue rigs that can be used for all classes, but with no guarantee in success. If all efforts fail and the rig can not be freed by another classmate then a manual retrieval is allowed, but with point deduction. There will be some water hazards so waterproofing is recommended.

Anyone else freaked out by this!? JIA are you thinking this kind of water hazzard

Not freaked out at all. That is why he said waterproofing is recommended. I know a bunch of us that are already buying waterproof ESC'c for this event.

What ESC's are you guys buying? I know I can ballon my Spektrum but what about those Ti Robot servos. I've searched the issue and people say they are water proof?

Guess the Motors are cheap enough to replace right;)

canucksrc - That FJ looks like something you would see in the trail. I would say its a go.

Those original general rules were layed out for a much smaller group of people and a totally different location. The location originally set was remote with a natural feed spring creek but with a real desert feel to it. Water probably wont be a problem here. Jason and I are working out a final set of rules and classes as right now. We just want to keep everyone on as level of a field as possible and keep the competition close and make sure everyone has a ton of fun mainly.

Once again thanks guys for your support and enthusiasam.

Oh yeah, for anyone who is interested the original site photos can be found

Lastclodstanding,
thank you for the info. I'll have two 2.2 rigs and bring the Super for Chits and Giggles.

I'm a Gas/Nitro guy also. I can bring my Baja 5b and people are welcome to give it a flogging if the park allows?

We're next to a lake.

There will be water, but unless your ESC is on the axle it shouldn't be much of an issue.

No snorkeling.
