I hope I didn't miss it in the thread but I wanted to know if any of the rocker switches could be programed as momentary digs like the old spektrum dx3.
ie Push forward= dig, let go and back to 4wd, Push back= rear dig and again just let go for 4wd

I just picked one up but I don't like having to turn dig off. It's much easeir to just let go of the button.

Thanx for any help here.

That is not an option with the 4PL.

Well poop. I just found Drfranks Post with this ? But thanx for the quick answer.

I'm going to have my lhs ship the one I got in for the update.

Am I correct in my understanding that it is just leting the dig function be moved to other switches besides the button on the grip?

I'm not running dual ESC's yet, but can you under drive and over drive the back motor?

You have to run dual ESC's to have thy control. That is why this radio was designed this way.

I understand that. I'm not that dumb What I am asking is that with only one program mix for ESC mixing, can we both overdrive and underdrive the rear motor?

I can never make assumptions about what people know

The 4PL does only have 1 program mix, HOWEVER it has the special Dual ESC mixing which acts as the 2 mixes the 4PK uses. You can in fact underdrive and overdrive the rear just like the 4PK. When doing that, even on the 4PK it is only effecting one mix anyway though, it is just bumping the rear motor up to 120%.

Cool! I initially came on here to bash Futaba because the printed manual says 6.0V, but apparently the online manual has been updated. The RX really can handle 8.4V, which is sweet!

Default I'm bailing out

Well after some reading of the forum and manual, I have decided to return my 4pl and stick to my dx3e with the wantasummit mod. The only thing the 4pl offered me was a 120% epa that gave me a touch more throw on the steering. I can fix that with a 1/4" longer horn and I don't need the 4th ch. I cant see getting the cutting brakes for my xr.

With my modded DX3e I have dual esc mixing and a momentary dig switch that I love. All of this for $120.

I'm not saying this to knock the pl but to say thanks for all the good info that helped me make the right choice for me.
Thanx all,

Default Another new radio....

So my son Calvin (asw27x) received a 4PL for Christmas, it is already shipped out for the firmware update and then we get it back, hopefully soon.

I'm still trying to sort out my 3PM-x issue with reverse.

I ordered a 4pl and I wasn't really sure if I was going to keep it. I initially bought it thinking I wanted to built an XR10, but the more I thought about it and looked at them I decided on an SCX10. Then I thought I might not need 4 channels... But the more I get into it I see that I can use a 4ch for winch and dig, or an r2 tranny/dig and winch. Cool!

Frank Rizzo commented on the momentary dig on the dx3e. I think it MIGHT be possible on SW1 (momentary switch in the handle) on the 4pl if you are using a mechanical dig... Anyone tried it? It is possible to tie SW1 to channel 3, which seems possible to use that to trigger a dig, although probably just rear. I don't know for sure, just theory to me since I don't have it to try. Thoughts? I need to research single motor digs.
