Harley,

I bought a 4PL and i am running a goat 3s, castle bec set to 7.4v, and a hitec 7950, When i put it under a load like trying to climb a wall or something the servo will barely wiggle with my hand off the wheel. My BEC is also directly wired to my servo. is due to framerate issues?

That shouldn't be it. I would check your ground wires.

Hey Harley, I'm very new to crawling and after reading this entire thread (for about 4 days) I appreciate the great advise. I ended up selling my DX3R on Ebay and just ordered a 4PL for the new AX10 ARTR I just received. I also ordered a Tekin FX-R w/T55 motor combo which I believe you highly recommended somewhere on this site.

Anyway, Thanks for sharing your insight and be prepared to mentor this newbie crawler because I'm sure I'll have a few questions along the way.

Thanks!

-Greg

Sounds like you made good choices Greg! Whenever you have a question on the radio just post it up here.

Default Sent in 4pl for update

Ok I just sent it in for the update. I have a few ? I just set it up for my LCC and it just worked for what I needed for the dig with the 3 way switch on the side. I havent put all the electronics in the rig to run yet but on the bench works great. The ? Is on my new xr10 I will be running 2 esc havnt figured out what the best set up is for me yet but most likely 2 fx-r with 45t motors. The new software will allow me to use that 3 way switch like a dig on my LCC and will I be able to control the speeds of both motors somehow on the fly. Thanks Gerry

Yes the dig will function just like the 3 position dig on your Losi. You will just assign another button to do the biasing of the motors.

When you get the radio back, just follow the video linked in the first post and let me know if you have any questions.

What's the difference between these two receivers? Do they both work with he 4pl? With both of them can you use all functions on the 4pl?

Harley:

Quick question: Is there a way for me to get an updated version in (or shipped to) the UK? I don't want to order one from the US then have to send it back to be updated. I was going to order from Tower Hobbies, but wasn't sure if they have got the updated versions yet (or if the updated ones even are ready yet). Thanks.

i am curious about the same thing, i am in canada, don't want to order it, wait 2 weeks for shipping, then wait another 4 weeks, pay another $30+ to ship it back to the US for programming.

I talked to them today. There should be a batch of the new ones in about 2 weeks. I can try and stay on top of when those are in but beyond that I am of no help :-|

Harley...great info, thanks a ton for your support.
My son (asw27x) just received his updated TX (system was a Christmas present), I'm sure he may have questions later on as he sets up his 2.2 shaftie.

You, and others, provided great support on my 3PM-x in another thread.

Thanks again for the help!
