| BEC wiring mixed results???
I have searched and searched again!! I have searched the forums about BEC wiring with mixed results. I am wanting to know the latest info out there. Here is what I am looking at.... 1 Tekin FXR Castle BEC Hitec 7955 TG Punk Dig 3s lipo 11.1v Spektrum sr3000 rx(3channels plus bind port) My question do you follow the directions in the BEC pack? Mine says pull red motor wire out of connector going in the receiver. It also says solder to battery leads. The forums some guys say to wire it directly to the servo(dark wire being - red + and signal wire terminated?) with the battery wires the same. What is your take on this? |

Different people have different opinions on this, a lot has to do with the rig it is going in and the servo it will be powering. My general rule is if it is a scaler then you can do it like the package says, if you are building a comp rig with a servo that is capable of 300+ in/oz then wire it directly to the servo. |

Going in a XR10 with possibility of comps after some driving lessons. The only way to adjust BEC is through Castle Link. I have the Tekin Hotwire the software probably doesn't support it right? |

I use direct to the servo. If you go to the RX (like the package directions), remove the red wire from the ESC to the RX so you don't have 2 BEC's powering the RX. I believe all of us wire the BEC input from the battery to ESC leads. No, the HotWire can't program the CC BEC, you need the CC CastleLink (which can also program CC ESC's). |

Do I need to remove the red + from esc to rx if I wire directly to the servo?

no, the esc bec will power the rx if you have your castle bec just powering the servo

You can get a Y harness to do all the cutting on so you don't effect any wires and it's easy to swap servo's.

This thread.... Definitive wiring diagrams for BECs Rx Servos Motors etc. shows a couple of different ways to do the wiring. Near the end of the thread is a link to the parts I use to make a "bridge" between the servo plug & the BEC output. No cutting involved, just remove the servo signal wire, put it into another housing (so it's supported when you plug it into the RX) then bridge the servo & BEC plugs and wrap with tape. |
