Default Tekin FXR PRO issues

I've been trying to decide on a ESC so I did an Advance search on thie esc and I looked for titles only. Have you guys seen how many issues this esc has? I'ts a lot when you search this way. I'm thinking I should avoid this one unless someone knows different.

I run dual FXR's in my XR10 and had 1 issue which was taken care of very quickly by Tekin with a new replacement. The reason why you see so msny issues is they are very popular. If you don't want to try that one you could try a castle product that fits your needs. They also make good products. If your looking small mamba micro pro, size no issue mamba max pro. Or last one I would suggest is a holmes hooby BRXL. Can get in a waterproof version. Lots of choices out there. All of them make a good product and stand behind them.

The FXR is the most popular ESC which is why you see so many user error issues.

The good news is that Tekin stands behind their product and offer excellent service.

BTW: I bought a Castle SW2 for my SCX-10 and it was defective out of the box, it cannot be programmed to run a brushed motor without a Castle Link and computer according to the tech I spoke to. They sent out a lot of those. At least I got a free Castle Link from them.

No one buys something and posts up that it works fine..
they buy something then they either screw with it and it breaks or it is defective out of the box (it happens) and they take to the internet and complain to everyone telling everyone to avoid it at all costs..
I had a FXR and it was amazing, I would definitely buy one again, I'm running a HH torquemaster br-xl now and I would definitely buy that one again as well.

I was looking at Holmes Br-XL but it is on back order until may. The reason I brought up this post is because I did see a lot of good posts about it until I did the search in advance mode. LHS quoted me 109.00. I think that's a good price.

I'm running a RS Pro in my Stadium truck, a FXR in my crawler, and soon an RX8 in my 4X4 SC. Both the ESC's I have work great. Much better than the Novak and Quantum ESC's I had.

I know Randy Pike (Tekin rep) is on here sometimes to. Or you can use their forum for Q&A.

Is the Holmes only for Lipo? I'm still on stick niCad for awhile. Building on a budget.

When you set up the ESC (it tells you how to do it in the manual) Just turn off the low voltage cut off.
