Default Running batteries in parallel - need advice

I have an scx10 (Dingo) and I'm currently using a 5000mah 40c lipo (gens ace). I love the battery but for weight distribution I'd really like to switch to two smaller batteries in parallel and mount them down on the rock sliders (one on each side). Any negatives to this? If it sounds ok, can ya'll recommend what size batteries I should get to get at least an hour of runtime?

thanks!

I would just go to one smaller battery and mount it across the rails, I run 2650mah packs in mine and I think that is a good balance between weight and runtime. I mounted the battery plate just in front of the trans on the sloped portion of rail, works out quite well and is low and out of the way.

If you do want to run two then just measure the space you have and go to your favorite battery dealer and look for a pack that will fit nicely.

I'm running two 2200mAh 2S LiPo's and made battery plates for the rock rails. While this works well keeping a lowish CG and a balanced rig, there's just not enough weight forward for my liking. I'm either going to have to add some additional weight forward or do what the previous post mentions.

Forward/aft CG is about 1 cm ahead of center. Not enough IMO.

I ran 2 of these in one of my scalers with a homemade parallel wire. Zippy

I'm probably going to list those two batteries soon.

Thanks for all the replies...actually a couple of different ideas I may try. I found these which look interesting and would allow the saddle mount and forward cog (just mount them all the way forward on the rails)
