GT3B battery mod go to lipo

You could add a lipo protection board, then it would work just like a protected flashlight battery. Boards like linked below are supposed draw ~30uA, which is about 2x the normal self-discharge amount if I'm doing my math correctly. That would only make it 3%/month for a decent battery, and for long term you can disconnect it.

The only down side is most have a low limit of ~2.4v, which is quite low for the chemistry most lipo's use. Even so, I'd rather have a lipo drop to 2.4v than to 0v. The best option is probably using LiFE cells w/protection module or NiMH instead. The only real benefit to lipo's over those 2 is weight & discharge rates, cost is actually worse since you don't get as many charge cycles.

Got my lipo in my radio, fits so well. I did trim a little plastic bracing off of the screw thingy(top half of right side)to make room for wires. I did get the low voltage cutoff, soldered inline then covering in shrink tubing.
