You sir are missing out! Lol

I run cc Bec's...

1.9.. 6v to my 7950...( its in a mini! Lol.. I only run 2s, so it didn't operate for long at 7.4v nor did it need it in a 2lb 8oz rig.. )

2.2s.. 7.4v to a 7980... 4lbs 3oz

2.2p.. 7.4v to a 7980... 4lbs 2oz

Scx.. 6.4v to a hobbico cs-170

Wraith.. 6.9v(I think) to a 7955

Default What bec voltage do you run?

Does the rx limit the volts from the BEC? I have a FS GR3E rx, can it handle 7.4 volts?

Im running the 6v the HH BR-XL esc provides..My old school hitec servo (985MG) was only rated for max torque at 6v (177oz/in Tq.)..turns my 1.9s extremely well

Servo isn't a HV so it gets 6.0V

Will get bumped up once upgraded.

6-7.4v for servos

8-9v for servo winches with heyok controllers.

Volts from an external BEC can be a limit to the RX, also the amp load through the RX.
What happens is you can burn off the traces on the RX PC board if you overload it. This kills the RX.

What that limit is, I can't tell you. To avoid this potential issue I only run my external BEC's direct to the servo and let the internal ESC BEC power the RX.

The internal BEC's in ESC's are set to allow working through the RX without damage to the RX.

I think I'm going to go VFR direct from the BEC to the servo when I get back home tonight. Hope it all goes well.

Gain or voltage is too high when the servo twitches and overshoots.

If the servo has more torque or heat, amp draw has increased. Typical servos wear longer at lower voltage.

So, you are saying, if a servo is rated to do say, 300oz of torque at 6v. Your best bet is to stay at or below 6v, for optimal longevity of the servo? And if you run at a higher, say , 7.4v. You can run the risk of damaging the servo? Is this right? If this is true, is anyone making a servo that is made for higher voltage?
Sorry for the nOOb ?'s.....just trying to get this volt stuff figured out.

There are MANY servos out there designed to run on 7.2v

6v because I'm limited by the flysky rx's.

would run 7.4 if I rewired or upgraded rx's.

All my servos are rated at 6v so the Castle BEC is set to 6.1 or 6.2v to get an actual 6v out.
