Default any one used a regulator (DE-SWADJ3) from Dimension

3A Adjustable step down switching voltage regulator
I been looking for a small adjustable BEC but the only one so far that I seen adjustable is the CC Pro but it look bulky.
So just wondering have any one used this and is this is the way to connect it?

The CC BEC is adjustable, but you need a castle link.

What is it that you want to power with this BEC?

Hmmm.... $25 for a 3A BEC, when for a couple dollars less, you could get a 10A Castle BEC (not the pro, just the basic one....about the same size as linked.....).

You could also see what HeyOK has to offer.

I highly doubt anyone here used the linked BEC, likely for the reasons I just mentioned.

PS, if you order a CC 10A BEC from Holmes Hobbies, he can set it for the output voltage you need, no extra charge and no need for the Castle Link.

Just tell him, "Charlie-III sent you".

just some LED nothing special I only need about 1amp, I want to be able to adjust the output between 9v 10v 11v 12v.
I did found another one similar to this one but it stated that the set screw was not built for constant changes more like a few times for the life of the regulator.
Dimension mention that this one can be adjusted as many times as the user want.

I did looked at the CC but only goes to 9v and their PRO goes higher but seem to be twice the size. I be limited on space.
I guess in a couple of years CC will increase the output of their 10amp BEC.

are those the only options?
Thanks!

The adjustable version of my No Brainer BEC can have its voltage set in a way similar to the regulator you found.

what is the volt adjustment range for the No Brainer BEC, I believe is not on that post.
and would the receiver and servo plug output the same volts?

This is the other one I found Pololu Adjustable 4-12V Step-Up Voltage Regulator U3V50ALV
but it say: (Note: The trimmer potentiometer is not rated for continual adjustment back and forth; the intended application is to set the output voltage a few times in its life.)
I would like something that dont have a limit.

The No Brainer will adjust up to about 2.5 volts less than the input voltage.
The voltage is available on the servo output connector. The connector that goes into the receiver doesn't have any voltage on it.

It sounds like you want to be able to set how bright your lights are.
Would one of these do it for you?

thanks, I want to be able to control volts that way I can control better the heat.
Are you plan on making one with more adjustment

Heat? There isn't much heat, is there?

How much adjustment would you want? Need more than three steps?

HeyOK's unit should have the same effect as turning down the voltage..I'm assuming heyok is using a fet for dimming.

around 500 lumens that get hot.
Maybe the market for a small adjustable BEC is not big. I'm looking for a full range from at least 8 to 12. But smaller than the CC Pro.
But yours should be good the minus 2.5v don't look bad.
Can you find/build one from your supplier with minus 4v range?

I asked him about that he mention it don't reduce voltage that it switches on and off rapidly in order to reduce the amount of power that reaches the lighting. BTW I do have his DIM Controller I like it.

Yes, it uses a FET to switch the power on and off. Pulse width modulation does the dimming.

About the BEC: I think I wasn't very clear. What I meant was that the adjustable BEC will go from near zero volts, up to about 2.5 volts less than the input voltage. In other words, feed 12 volts into the BEC and the output will be adjustable from about 0 volts up to about 10.5 volts.

You mean 9.5 volts out on 12 volts in.

Exactly, esc's operate in the same manner.

Do you agree that your motors run cooler with less throttle?
Because if they do, then so will your leds.

Ecs's just pulse your battery voltage rapidly...they dont change the voltage

Switching voltage regulators kinda operate the same way...

Yep 1st post was kind of confusing, now is super clear you should update the product page with the info.

Thanks all!
lot of technical aspect to BEC.
Will see what I decide to do at the end since im not in a rush.
