Default 4WS Questions

I'm a complete moron when it comes to wiring these things, so I need my hand held to get this thing set up for 4 wheel steer. I'd like the standard front, front and rear and crab walk setup, I guess. I'm building an Emeryworx chassis and will be using a 4PLS, 2 Hitech 7950s and a Mamba Max Pro. I've read a hundred threads about 4WS, but am still somehow not clear on what I need to do. Do I need 2 BECs and 2 of the RX Bypass Y cables, 1 for each servo? And/or do I need the Heyok 4 WS controller? Programming the transmitter will be a whole other set of questions, I'm sure! I appreciate yall's help!

A good BEC like the newer Castle 2.0 should run both servos just fine. I've run Futaba RXs on 8.4v with no issues, so a bypass would not be necessary. Just pull the red wire out of the ESC to RX connector and tape it up. As for setting up the steering, I just assigned the rear servo to the bottom thumb switch, set the center, and then set the end points. That way I can steer the rear independently. The switch is in a pretty convenient location for that.

It sounds like you are already set, but, I want to offer this:

If you are able to get yourself functioning with your transmitter, great.
Some don't have a good way to set centering and end points. If you fall into this group, maybe one of these will make it easier:
4 Wheel Steering Controller

If your transmitter only has a two position third channel, this part will look after you:
4 Wheel Steering Controller - controlled by a two position third channel

For your BEC, if you don't like to solder, consider one of these as all you have to do is plug it in!
No Brainer BEC

First you have a 4PLS.
The PLS has a 4ws setup HERE

You can run a castle 2.0 bec, as it has dual leads, but Holmes has a Double RX bypass for using one bec, you will be fine with the 10a bec with your needs.

programming is easy so don,t sweat this. Ive done this with both my 4PLS and a setup like Hey Oks
