Default Motor fan won’t spin...when on motor

So, I got a Yeah Racing heatsink with side fan for my Wraith (Australian summer coming up). Well, it won’t spin when I put it on the motor where it belongs. Motor magnets are likely the cause. When I unscrew the fan from the heatsink and move it a couple of inches away, it starts spinning. Since this is designed to be clipped onto a motor, what am I missing here?

That’s interesting. I don’t use fans often but have on my rally car and haven’t seen this issue. I’ve just used traxxas and a couple other cheaper fans but they would operate close to the motor.

I also have a YR fan that I mounted to the brushless motor on my Slash... same deal.. doesn't spin. It worked upon the initial run but shortly after... nothing. I haven't tried moving it away from the motor while running and I know my post doesn't help you but just wanted to share my same/ similar experience with this product as well.

I have the same problem, but mine doesn’t work at all anymore. I have the Castle Creations 2 fans with shroud(1/8th scale I believe) on my TRX4 and I went to run it one day, and they haven’t worked. I’ve tried plugging it into the receiver box, RC4WD light controller and it doesn’t work no matter what.

Make up a spacer to move it farther away?
