I've blown out 4 3rd gear bearings now and I believe it's because of hard landings and not having the extra screw in the front of the case. Unfortunately, I've lost most of the gears every time.

I got caught up by that bump a few times, to ground it. I'd really like to build some sort of clamp to mount higher up out of the way. Until I find or make such an item, my next set of axles will probably have the bump on them.

Great looking rig Will!!!

Hey, how hard was it to sand down those sidewalls? I've got a set of tires I was thinking about softening up, and you look like you did a fabulous job!

was it a pain in the butt?

I used a belt sander at work and it was pretty easy and quick.

Sweet! I'm glad someone is going to do these.

So how does this compare to the XR10? I'm looking at getting a second crawler and this might be in line!

I decided to get rid of the XR10 sometime ago. It was not a horrible rig, it just didn't feel as good as my berg. Some believe the XR10 has its advantages, I personally see no advantage.

Sorry for the delays guys, I had to test some things before I can give the final go ahead on making some sets for my testers. That along with having my machinist being very busy, times have simply not aligned up right. The only thing berg on our axles are the gears, so its been a rather interesting process. As I've said many times, I will not release these, unless I'm confident in them.

Those who have seen what I'm doing with the tubes are insistent these are going to be a big hit, and the best part of all, they will relatively affordable!

Based on the pics of the gear casing that you posted around page 6 of this thread I can't wait to see what the axles and gear cases look like Sounds like it will be worth the wait

Well been awhile since I've updated this thread. Haven't done anything special to the rig since the FXR mod. I've put some time in the rig and haven't had any electrical failures yet. The ESC's do get alittle hot after running for 15 minutes or so but nothing I'm worried about.

I attended the Goldendale Nationals last month and finally walked away with a 3rd place podium finish. It's good to know I can kinda drive now

But the real reason I'm posting is to show you guys some more iphone picture eye candy. We've been working on the cases and tubes some more. A few details I'm still keeping under wraps, but we have updated the case some. We've taken some material out to reduce the width, and rounded the corners for a smoother slide. Its looking pretty snazy!

Direct ETA is still really unknown. There is so much to be done, tested, re-tested and possibly changed.

Very nice! What is the weight savings of these over stock gearcases?

Those cases look great (not to mention all the other sweet parts from RcBros). Nice work.
