| BC Package
It's pretty darned obvious when you get a BC package... ...with a BC package. The shell looks great BC! Thanks again. I just can't bring myself to comp'cut it yet as the majority of the artwork on the sides and back will vanish with a snip. Cookie monster and the dial caliper would be unrecognizable. Great job man. | 7075 Berg Transmission Cases...FINALLY!!! Quote:
It's [almost] a glorious day. If they pass my assembly test of installing all gears and checking mesh/clearances, I'll take delivery and finally be able to retire the only remaining stock Enroute Berg parts on my rig. The cases pictured are the only ones cut. I'll hack-mod the front one just like the one on my rig right now. Rear one stays stock. This allows the use of a single CAD file. The case half on the left was a test and still shows mill finish. The completed units were media frosted. My goal was a bone stock case with a few mods. The trained Berg eye can find them. Beveled upper edge, no thick motor plate, missing front hole and separated bearing bosses on one half. I do not know what they weigh vs stock. I hopefully will own them today and weigh them tonight. I left the lower margins square for increased longevity. Over time the case margins will round off on their own...slowly. 7075 slides so much better than stock bubble-gum aluminum. Maybe I'm jinxing myself by posting this but they look great and I hope they pass spec today. Busy few nights of work ahead. Fun stuff. J Last edited by SkaldidDog; 04-03-2014 at 09:44 AM.

| Re: Skaldiddog's "Progress" The work on these is quite good but due to the low priority of the job there are a few spots that are not perfect. If done by VP [for production] they'd be the bomb and I'd owe VP a kidney. But I like my kidneys. If you wan't to keep you kidneys, make your Berg cases yourself. J |

Me too. They frosted them without me asking. I kind of hope they mess something up and have to recut them. Then I'll tell them no frosting. J

Tooling marks are cool but frosted with a WD-40 wipe down is a nice look too |

Makes them a little darker. My old berg axles were like that... |
