Looks like it is driving good. I think I get what you mean about not removing all the hop. The hop is an indicator you are getting traction. If you see some hop with a high wheel speed, you should be able to slow it down to a crawl and maintain traction, right?

| Re: Dlux Berg Build Keanu Reeves should have never played that role. I love the movie but he cannot break the role for me. Yeah, I think my goal, if possible is to watch for more traction, kinda like a huge loading up and then release. Short and hoppy is what I am avoiding. |

What camera are you using? Have you tried filming in 60fps and watching the video in slow mo? You might see a lot more subtle nuances & traction events going on.

Using the Contour Roam2. I just watched in slow mo. Pretty interesting. The front shocks actually move a whole lot more than I thought and the tires move less than I thought. I cant see what the rear shocks are doing since I cant see the shock shaft through the tire. |

I have been seriously drooling over RCbros new gears. I dont want to bore anybody with the weights, that has already been gone over but I will say that when I picked up the package of gears, I was seriously shocked at how light they even felt in hand. Not only are they ultralight but the machine work is awesome. I dont think you could improve on these gears if you wanted to. Great job Will! So, what took me so long? Well,.... I have been holding out for the big pin mod. Will took out so much material that he didnt know if it would be possible to have the big pin. Without the big pin in for me, I dont think I could trust my car like I do now. The point behind these gears is not only lightweight but also a better and stronger material. Well, the good news is that I think I can now have both. I have had these gears for a couple of weeks but didnt run them the instant I got them because I didnt want to make any changes for Nats. Once I found out that I could not go, I instantly threw them in and I now have many packs through them without any issues whatsoever. I think these gears are awesome and I am super stoked that they can be modded for big pins. Here is a shot of the gears showing that there is still quite a bit of material left after machining for the big pins. |

..awesome Erik! I was hoping you'd do this Are you using SDS gears for your big pin mod? I have some with the pin holes slightly off-center and am hoping to fix that by opening up the holes for 2 mm pins.... |

Yep. Big pins will be the perfect fix for those gears.

Second that. Great gears so far. I've been running them for a month or so. Green loctite is holding strong to the lockers. I can't fit a bigger pin though my S300 stubs but I do use press fit hardened pins...that just barely squeezed into the groove on these gears. What OD is your big pin? Cheers, J |

I have been working on a new chassis that I was going to debut at Nats. Since that didnt work out the way I wanted, I will just do it here. All my geometry is the same as I have had for awhile now. I left it the same as it is performing awesome however, I changed the look drastically. I wanted to get the cab down low but I didnt want to change any link or shock geometry. This means I had to figure some things out, mostly how to get the front shocks to look right and abide by the rules. I like to leave a bit of buffer room so all my measurements are just a touch over the minimums. Driving this car upside down is not a problem The front shock mounts have a very scale look where the shock mounts come up through the hood and are braced. I have never been happier with the performance or the looks of my cars. I will be putting up a vendors thread soon. Here is what I came up with. |

I like it. The shock tower is a really good idea. 50/50 right?

So it's just a matter of ordering side plates for current dlux chassis drivers?

Uh oh!!! That has XR axles under it... hmmm.. I'm liking the front shock mounts, reminds me of my entry into crawling with a RMDW chassis on my creeper.. (brings back the beginning days). Hell of a good look Erik! Hoping to see Davids do some work in a upcoming season. |
