Glad to see you are enjoying it so much! I remember how good it felt to switch.Crazy how much more quiet these are than the LCC's isn't it?

The parts line boomed up in the last month or so! Great stuff!

BTW- I'm a kick back and let it tumble kinda guy too. We do this stuff to relax, right?

I know you have to have come up with something new and improved in the last 3 days! Where's the updates?

Example?

The only thing I did not want to do is lathe the shocks so the spring goes further on the shock. I am liking the way they are running and dont want to change that just yet.

Not too much going on with this. I have been super busy working on other projects while I wait for material to come in to finish this car and this axle project up. I was supposed to have material this week but it looks like next week.

Talking to 53Willys I was commenting on how I was so surprised that I liked running such a high belly. The only serious draw back I saw was that my wheel base was changing approx 3/8" from full droop to full compression. I really wanted as close to 12.5 throughout the travel. He was showing me how on his BJ that since the links almost flat at ride height that it is reducing the fluctuations in wheelbase. They go to a negative angle when compressed and positive when in droop. So, I raised my rear links. They are now sharing the hole with the shock mount. I also out boarded the shocks to make this work and I think its working good so far.

Bit better clearance with them raised and now my wheelbase is a min 12.375 throughout the travel.

Thanks! I am really, really liking it the more I play with it.

If you see the above post, I raised my lowers at the axle. This took my anti squat down to 108% in the rear. I thought I was going to like the lower value but while doing some climbs today I did some adjusting and found that bumping the AS up has really helped. I am not sure I would have taken the time to do it any other way. Having to undo a single bolt and have the AS raise from 108%-128% is great. Right now I am in the middle hole but I want to try the upper hole.

I really need to redo my rear links. I need to bring the motor down from that pic, make the links longer and make a bend that clears the cross brace for the shocks.

Maybe I beat you to it?

I turned down the part under the spring.

I have no idea where I found the motivation, I needed to change out the oil anyway. I am tired LOL.

I have been meaning to do this since I did not like the way the red/orange springs fit on that part of the shock.

While I was out there... I have had enough with the blown outer wheel bearings. On set 4 now. I decided to learn from others mistakes, and I went with some bronze bushings. We will see how they hold up.

Weight I have added:
Longer roof
Motor covers
Knuckle weight
Wheel bushings

Weight I have taken off:
Turning down the shocks..... :crickets:

Looks like with my small 450mah battery I am now at 5lb 1.9oz

When I first built/drove the car the front end felt super light so I added more knuckle weight. I was full with my brass weights so I went back to the half steel ring and lower half brass rings. I think it was only .8oz overall more (both sides) but it feels 1000x more stable. This is peace of mind because I knew the theory was there but could never really tell a difference with my Losi. This car reacts to changes just like the knuckle weights VERY well.

Just the 5 hour energy sleeves on the motors.

Thanks! They are actually working out better than planned. I did them just for the weight savings and I was going to paint the piece but there have been a couple times where my mesh has slipped or I have heard a weird noise. I cant tell you how nice it is to just be able to turn the wheels and look in there to see what is going on.

I started thinking about this number and how I added so much weight.

I re weighed my knuckle weights and they came in the same as the end of this build (6.2oz each side). So, I didnt add the weight I had thought I did from them. Then, I realized that my weights were taken with Rovers and I am now running Claws. The Claws weigh 1.2oz more than the Rovers.

So, apples to apples, running Rovers, I am at 5lb .7oz RTR now. Just .2oz over where I was in the build. Much better.
