How long are your shafts from hex pin hole to the end where it goes into the locker? Thinking about it, it does not seem like it would be that hard. You already have my tubes so, just add lockouts and I can give you blank shafts to do your magic on the end of the shaft and you should be good to go? Maybe trim the tube too but I could help with that or you could even probably cut it down with a hacksaw if needed. You only need to be in the ballpark on tube length. We just need the shafts to be long enough.. |

Been working on those and they have been in testing for awhile. They just dont work out as good as the Berg ones though. I dont know if they will ever make it out of beta testing.

Congrats on the top 10 finish at the pacific coast in the 2.2 pro comp and 2nd in the super class. It was cool to hang with you on sat. Thanks for all the parts that took me to the 4th place spot at that comp.

I have been pretty busy the last little while so I have not had time to update this thread. Here are a couple of updates that I have been working on. There was some talk of HR axles and I never put it together that they were similar. While researching, I found that the HR axles were lighter than the Bergs so I wanted to see what could be done with them. I ended up finding a pretty good deal on a set here in the wanted section. As far as functionality, the cases are exactly the same. The gears are also the same with the exception of the tooth pitch. Looking around, it seems that you can still buy nitride treated gears from HR. This could be an excellent option for those in need. I know Sococrawler said in a post that he had some and never had a problem. I know this is weird to say, but I actually like the HR axles a bit better than the Bergs, that is the engineering part anyway, the quality is still HR. Everything that I liked about the HR engineering is pretty much moot since it was the tube design and I am not using any of that. Here is a profile of the HR case on top of the Berg. The HR case has a bit smaller profile which I liked. Then, the part I was most excited about... Looks like I could lose a couple grams by going to the smaller profile and less material. HR case 50g Berg case 54g After machining the HR case as much as I could, I weighed it. 45g And the Berg case machined as much as I could 45g So, as of right now I am showing no weight loss, which is weird because I took more out of the HR case than a Berg case and it started out less also. The weight on the Berg case was taken at the initial time of this build so I am guessing the weights are off. I will have to weigh both when I take the Berg cases off my car and put the HR ones on. The only downside I found to the HR cases is that you have to drill new holes to make the Berg upper link mount work. Not a big deal. Either way, if you can find a set of HR axles, they will hopefully be cheap and these axles will supply us with gear boxes for sure, and possibly some gears if they hold up. |

I have also been running a CF upper link mount for awhile now. You lose a couple grams and increase the triangulation. These are avail on my website now. |

And, last but not least, I finally got some Titanium link sliders made up. My delrin ones were lasting as long as the rod end was but I wanted something that was a bit more slick and did not wear down at the chassis. To save weight and money, I am still running delrin at the axles. These are also avail in my store right now. I only had a handful made up for the first run to see how they go. |

That is interesting stuff about the HR cases. Your truck is looking good. I may have to get some of those carbon fiber upper mounts when I place my next order.
