Pretty cool stuff just showed up. Some JunFac front and rear numbers along with a CMS plate. Also have JunFac drive shafts that I've already mounted on the transmission.

That's a sweet front bumper. I still need to order that for mine. Been putting it off.

Ya looks like it's going to look pretty good. And the thing is really heavy duty.

Well coming together. Chassis complete and skid plate mounted. Still waiting on the upgrade parts for the axles.

So I'm going with a CMS as I see a lot of people have done. Is it just for a scale look to get the servo off the axle housing? Or is it a plus functionally?

Really depends on if you can set it up right.
It needs to be a 3 link setup and your steering link and panhard bars need to both be on the same plane.

Oh needs to be a 3 link set up? I'm sticking with the leaf springs. Should I not be doing a CMS then?

CMS is purely for scale looks. Servo on the axle is much better for performance.

Did you order the GMade brass tubes for the axles?

Ah gotcha. I'm going to be running it mostly for crawling. Do you recommend sticking with the stock mounting position? If so should I also try and figure out how to make it a frontward battery mount setup? And yes I have the brass tubes on the way.

For crawling performance leave it on the axle for sure.

I still have my battery mounted in the rear on both of my Sawbacks. You can run a smaller battery up front or there are places up front you can put it. You can trim the ESC "shelf" off of the fake motor/receiver box and mount the battery sideways on the chassis rails somewhere there if you insist on a front battery.

Cool good info. Leaving the servo on the axle then. And no I don't insist on mounting it up front. Just thought I needed to for crawling purposes. If rear mount has worked for you I'm sticking with it.

Try it stock and the you can always move the battery later if you feel the need. I like my trucks with forward weight bias, but not too much. The rear battery helps balance the trucks for me.

Which wheels and tires are you going to run? And are you planning on adding any weight in the wheels?

Yes added lead weights to the wheels. I'm going to be using some (your favorite right now) RC4WD metal wheels and Proline TSL SX Super Swamper XL's tires. With some dual stage foams.

I've had a lot/hate relationship with RC4WD from the beginning.

Which wheels did you choose? Not all RC4WD wheels are compatible with ProLine tires. Just an FYI in case you don't already know that.

Right I've been following your TF2 build. No I didn't know there could be a compatible issue. But I've already mounted the tires on the wheels and they seem to be good.

Awesome!

Where are the photos of the tires and wheels? They're always my favorite part!

I've played around with battery placement in mine. I am using 3M velcro tape on both the esc and battery so that I can swap their positions. Currently my battery is velcro'd horizontally across where the stock esc shelf is supposed to be. The esc is velcro'd to where the stock battery tray is. I may switch it back eventually, but I just wanted to try it out.
