Default H3's '08 2.2...Poulson's/Edge/Torsion/VF dig

Well I got some of the key components of my 2.2 build. Thanks to Kevin at TCS i'm going to be running a modified(watch build)Edge chassis. I'm putting the power down with a ax-10 tranny w/ poulson slipper and VF dig, of course mated to these very slick Poulson axle's. I should say I was impressed with Mike. I pm'd him a few questions and got prompt returns on them and solid answers...paid for them on friday and got them today...wow, that was quick!!!
I'll continue to post details on this build as it get's going...after midwest nat's...just don't have time yet.
Basic idea is lightweight....small outrunner..quark..castle bec...lightened edge...and a big lipo battery from MaxAmps.com

Thanks to .....Castle Creation's, TCSCRAWLERS.com and MaxAmps.com and RC4WDstore.com and nwtractech.com

Poulson axle's
TCS Edge chassis
Axial tranny
VF motor mount
Holmes Revolver
Poulson slipper
VF Dig
RC4WD clod offset wheels
nwtractech.com all-weather foam's
Losi's
Hitech 5955
Castle Sidewinder esc
Castle BEC
1290mah 11.1v Maxamp's lipo

Man Id hope you'd go for a fast big and heavy rig. They seem to be getting popular.

So are 4links...i'm not following that trend.....So are memory foams.....those are for people living in the past(pun intended)

Light, torsion, nwtractech(non-memory foams) and HEAVY wheels.

Ok, I will claim newb-ness on rc crawlin but not torsion sprung suspension. You are make a torsion setup?

Not sure what your asking but....It will be a torsion rod suspension with shocks for dampening and limiting travel....

mmmmmmmmmm looks tasty..
I'll be watching.
where are you planning on mounting the torsion to the axles?
I do see where you could mount them though.

You have a GC in mind?

nwtractech! can't wait to see these.

Thats a sweet build H3 I still remember your first tuber torsion! I almost bought that thing...but oh well!!

I myself have been working on a super light super sticky rig...!

Seems we have the same style in rigs!
*First couple of tuber torsion damped rigs
*First couple of torsion high clearence axled rigs(also damped)

what are these non-memory foams you speak of? sounds interesting!!
I'm waiting for my cust chassis plates for my rig but she is almost done!!
also need to finish my dig set up(VF style) i been busting my a$$ to get it done!!

Sorry for all the nonsemcei speak!!

I'm glad you like my build style. Great minds think alike.......and so do ours.lol

nwtractech.com is coming soon, keep an eye out on tcscrawlers.com. They should have some soon.

Myself(1st and 3rd in 2.2 with them), Chad(multiple 1st's with them in 2.2), and a couple other's have been running them for a couple of comps. nwtractech has got them figured out and they should be hitting production soon.

I'm no "foam" guy but, I've noticed better sidehilling support due to foams better response and equally as impressive straight line traction. Another nice change has been there ability to expand quicker in pinch situations than the memory's. (again not a foam guy) There not your average foam you would get with a tire...better quality and longevity with very nice forming ability's....wish I could talk more tech but.......i just drive.lol

EDIT...my 1st was before I was running them.

I didn't ask but is that an "aluminum" edge?? looks supper light!! and what are your plans for shocks? i have found some HPI's that are very nice and have different type of valves to really get the righ set up!

Nope, it's steel. They are a bit heavy. I'll be doing some trimming though.

Not sure on shocks, probably some rc4wd's though. I have there tlt polished alum one's. I'll see if I can get them sliding smooth, if I can i'll use them.

to tell you the truth i dont think it would work very well.. ti is way to brittle when it gets that small, and you get any bigger and it wont bend. plus ti doesn't flex very much once you get it to a point it just brakes.. rocksmith i talk to you at the last comp.. i'm the one that works with ti.. i've thought about sleaving the piano wire with ti tubing that was a little bit bigger then the wire to make it so the wire could still flex, but the wire wouldn't get caught on anything.. but haven't found anything the right size yet...

oh and sorry for stealing your thread jason but i thought i would throw my 2 sense in on the ti commment.. and i cant wait to see this thing it looks awesome! i love how you stuck with the wire chassis! you know how good it works! and so do i!

Ya, i've been around ti bikes for awhile and have seen it's breaking factor.
I'll test a couple rod's, but I can tell you the maiden voyage won't/wouldn't be at a comp.
Thanks, I do like the torsion's, and with shock dampening/limiting I think I might be able to fix a couple little things I don't like about them....we will see.

Ok, update. Headed over to my friends at WildWestOffroad today to have the 1:1 guy's do a little scale fabrication.
Here's what we did....picture's seem to tell the story well so if there's question's just ask.

Chassis is know 1/16th OVER legal height requirments. Notice I moved the TVP part of the chassis forward...this was to get the chassis further back since I'm going torsion. I would have centered it if I was going 4 link.
