I think everyone that bought an E-Maxx and sunk 2x the value of it into upgrades already did that several years ago. If someone was unlucky enough to buy an old one now I'd imagine they probably have no idea this release is happening.

Meh... Was hoping for a TRX6 kit...

I should be more excited, the E-Maxx 2.5 was my first hobby grade RC, and still have it. I can't say that I am a fan for the integrated tub chassis, seems like they are removing a lot of potential for tuning and upgrades.

Hopefully the GT-Maxx shocks would fit into my new crawler

Teng!

Those shocks are HUGE - unless you are building something really big, they aren't going to look right - and won't likely even fit in stock locations...

I absolutely hate working on the X-Maxx chassis. Hopefully Traxxas didn't just hit one with a shrink ray, and actually re-thought some of the layout and component assemblies

What's so bad about working on the X-Maxx?

This is what I read.... "I hope this is an [insert brand here] killer because the [insert brand] Army on Facebook is filled with the dumbest fanboys I've ever encountered."

At least in my world

Haha fair enough! Fanboys are funny and we're all guilty of it at times. But the Arrma Army Facebook group is like a deep trench of glue sniffing fanboys. I had to leave it because I couldn't take the stupidity.

Funny thing is I don't hate Arrma. I love what they are doing. Their monster trucks are the best looking (and apparently most durable) out there. And the new on-road speedsters also look sick as hell. I always forget Arrma is a Horizon brand. Even more reason for me to like them.

Now that we know this release is not a rock crawler this thread should be closed. Not sure why it is still open?

We have a section called "Non-Crawler RCs" that it can be moved to really.

No, it should just be moved to Non Crawler RC's, but good luck getting a mod's attention these days.

No need to move it. Doesn't the OP have the ability to close this thread?
Then anyone can start a new thread in the appropriate section.
OR start a new thread and link this thread to the new one and post in this thread not to post here anymore.

You could just not read it if it bothers you so much.

Still have an OG E-Maxx, but my Stampede 4x4 makes it look silly, so she's a shelf queen these days, lol.

Do they still sell the parts for those full aluminum conversions? Then you could have a real blingy shelf queen.

Okay Pro. if these shocks ever fit into 1/10 scale crawler that maybe would be nice. Yes, I know they are big.

That's why I hate working on the Xmaxx. I had to rebuild both front and rear diffs on one the other day, and you have to remove quite a lot of suspension to even get to the diff case, whereas an Arrma diff takes about 4 screws and pops right out of the chassis.

They're also quite unwieldy, even with the tires off. So working on anything that needs the chassis flipped over frequently is a pain.

That "interlocking chassis" sounds great until you have to replace a shock tower and the entire rear clip needs disassembled to replace it.

Coming from a buggy-racing world, where basically everything is independently accessible from the top of the chassis, the Xmaxx (along with the ERevo 1 and 2) is flat out a bad design.
