Give me that in a kit with the better AR60 parts that came in the Bomber kit, and price it right, and I'll buy it.
So do you want the metal upgrades? Or think its unreasonable to expect? Cause ya said both...

I was fine with the licensed MJ body because I love the Grave Digger. The Max-D body was atrocious. And if you weren't a fan of either of those you were out of luck. I'd be fine with an unlicensed kit.

I'd also be fine with the BKT tires if they were a good compound, but they weren't. The stock tires weren't great and the wheels were worse. I stripped out a hex as did a lot of people.

The SMT10 probably didn't come with Clod sized tires because it was pathetically slow enough with the 2.2's.

I was wondering if you'd chime in! I've always hated Maximum Destruction and that's because I think Tom Meents is a dickhead.

No... if you're familiar with previous Axial kits, they generally came with all metal links and other premium parts that didn't come in the RTRs. I'm just saying that I could live without some of those parts, but the ones directly tied to fixing the original version's poor reliability would be nice.

My optimistic side of this Edgar Cayce story likes to think that Axial will bring this forward with the same gusto as the Capra, choosing to maintain a high bar. The competition is getting fiercer these days, especially with Traxxas’ seemingly endless budget

I hope you’re right. I almost bought one when they first came out but decided to wait, and glad I did. I would love to add a monster truck to my fleet but it has to be tough right out of the box like my Arrmas. Hope they have listened and learned and bring out a winner.

Looks like there’s a rtr and a kit! Pretty stoked about that.

Hopefully it's made with the new plastics that they used in the Capra. Aside from metal transmission gears I'm not noticing any real improvement from reading the kit manual over the original.

So the kit got metal transmission gears and that’s the only change???

Everything else - chassis, axles, links and even the wheels look the same. If it’s the same thing made from the same materials the joke is on us.

Only if we buy it. I'm holding out hope that the better plastics were used.

Yeah I really don’t see much difference from the old one. Going to pass again. Just don’t want to dump a ton more cash in it to it to get it close to where I think a monster truck should be.

That's our only hope left.

Not sure if OCP is the same material as before or not on the axles.

The RTR gets a 12T 550 motor and 60A ESC, which is a nice upgrade. Seems like a 15T would have made more sense so it could be Sport Mod legal. But this one shouldn't be slow at least.

The RTR is $100 less expensive and comes with metal gears. If it's got the better plastics, to me it sounds like a home run, but not the grand slam that some of us were hoping for.

$200 for the kit also sounds promising. It puts it right in the wheel house that I was hoping for. *IF* the truck has the better plastics, I'll be ordering the kit.

I would have liked to have seen the kit come with a bit more metal, but since it's only $200, that leaves enough room for aftermarket links.
