Ok. The tamiya bronco fits closer to stock wheelbase and width.

The Proline Bronco is 10" wheelbase, so it would probably be too long for stock Barrage wheelbase. Is anyone aware of longer body mount posts? I've got the longer Axial H type rear post, and it's not going to be long enough to get the rear fender arches off the rear tire. |

Maybe a custom mount that holds the back/ tailgate area vs the roof?

I ended up going with some threaded rod stock to extend the Axial H type body mounts out back. I just cut it down to the length I needed, turned the threaded ends down on the grinder where they need to slip in to the mounts on the shock hoops. I then secured them to the body mounts posts with zip ties and the threads from the rod sort of dig in and bite against the Axial posts so they're not going anywhere. I'm also going to paint them flat black so they blend with the Axial posts and "disappear". Overall, I'm pretty happy with the solution, and I think I've got the ride height of the body just right now. Now, it's on to paint. She's going to be blue with a white roof since that's what I have on hand paint wise. Need it to warm up a bit though first! |

Looks REALLY good Mike!! I've always liked old school Broncos. Any Interior plans? I really wanted a Tamiya Bronco Body for my CC01 Landfreeder. But, the more I look at it, the more I think it would look and perform better, with the Barrage!! Looking forward to more Brother! |

Thanks Carmine. I was actually looking at the interior I cut out from the Deadbolt body I mounted on my Wraith. It's so close to working, but just a tad narrow to mount cleanly. I may bite the bullet and get one of the Proline interiors and work with that. I definitely want to put something in it for the scale factor. Whatever I do, it'll be lexan since i'd really like to keep this rig nice and light. As far as paint, I found a full can of Duratrax gloss black in my storage shelf. Completely forgot I had it. So, now I've gotta decide if I wanna go Blue/White or Black/White. I'm thinking the black might look a little meaner. |

My friend, Black ALWAYS looks meaner! Have you thought about using one of the DinkyRC interiors? They're very adaptable. |

So I got the main color sprayed today at my buddies shop. (heated). I decided to go with the Black. In a twist though, he had a can of clear pearl that he wasn't using and convinced me to shoot it with the pearl first. Once I got that done and it set up adequately, I shot the black. It honestly turned out to be a really cool color. Depending on the light it can appear gun metal, or like a deep mossy green, and even kind of a deep gold. Not exactly what I was going for, but it does look pretty cool, and there's no doubt it's different. Gonna try and shoot the white tomorrow. In the mean time, here's a little teaser pic of the main body color. Quick question or poll though - Having second thoughts about doing the fender flares white. My original thought was to match them to the roof. Now, I'm thinking of painting them black from inside, and then masking and shooting them in flat black on the outside. Thoughts, opinions???? | Re: 1.9 Barrage RTR 1/10 Crawler What's your opinion on the fender flare color Carmine? Originally I was going to do them white to match the roof. 2nd guessing that tho, and thinking of painting them black from inside, then masking and shooting them flat black on the outside. ???

I would have to say flat black. On 1:1 Rigs, those are usually Rubber, and have a Matte finish. Of course, that's my opinion.... It's YOUR Rig. What do you think? |

I agree flat black, it will compliment the white roof and contrast you fancy black nicely.

So freak'n pleased with how this paint turned out! I'm just loving the color shift that happens with the pearl base coat. I ended up getting the white knocked out late last night. Up early this morning and did the flares and bumpers with bedliner. Also very happy I did that versus the white. As you guys stated, looks much more scale. I also "sharpied" in the body lines. Still have to do the grill in silver, then apply decals. It's ALMOST gonna be a shame to scuff and scratch this one up. ALMOST! |

The reason I was asking the difference between the proline and tamiya broncos. Is I have headlight and taillight buckets mirrors and grill for the tamiya bronco. And not going to use them anymore.
