Really no benefit in doing so plus you would have to run the motor wires or flip the reverse direction switch on your tx to get it to drive the right way. This was a popular free mod for the losi mini rock crawler cause of the short vertical plate chassis and everything. It helped with torque twist in the MRC. But the barrage is set up differently where there isn't much torque twist. |

I installed the skid so the motor is in the front,, it wasn't about torque twist, it was just because every bit of weight bias to the front helps, even though as I use a 4600mAh 2S, I don't think it really maters.

My rgt had a 50/50 weight bias without battery installed. Which was located in the rear. Moving the battery and electronics around to get somewhere around 60/40 bias would have more beneficial then flipping the trans. Also getting weight as low as possible such as aluminum wheels over plastics wheels will help as well. Stock no battery How mine is looking these days Last edited by hillbillyrc; 01-17-2018 at 08:18 AM. |

What would you guys use to create custom links ? I have a brand new Tamiya Brat (lexan) body and would like to shorten the wheelbase a bit. Also is there an aluminum spool that'll fit ? My front one is already dead ... |

8-32 all thread and 1/4 brake line or since the rod ends are smaller than standard 1/10s. 6-32 all thread and I think 3/16 brake line. How To: Make your own links |

Took the time to remove one rod-end ... just have a ruler but looks like they used a 4mm OD rod with M3 thread at the ends, so on the 1/10th sizes, in fact, it's just on the ball side that the rod-end uses M2 hardware ... so looks like there'll be a trip to the hardware store tomorrow |

That’s odd. I would assUme the mounting hardware would be an m3 bolt like every other 1:10 RC. If it is an m2 then I could use these rod ends to make links for my Losi Mini axles (1:1. | |

As a 1:10/1:12 r/c using 1:18 components (axles, transmission), there's a mix of M3 and M2 screw all around. On the axles, the M3 screw are for the c-hubs, knuckles, lockouts, and for the servo ... suspension, links and steering links are M2.

I've found the reference on your post this night but as you say, couldn't find a place to get one (well found one ... but priced to its weight in gold). I'ĺl check from time to time ... in the meantime I'll do with a plastic one. Ordered some 4mmOD-2mmID stainless tubes for my links ... |

So far I have only found HSP 680010 in stock in AUSTRALIA! I really hope the plastic holds up in our V2 kit.

Hopefully they'll be back in stock again soon. I think I'll be okay with the stock parts for a while. Please post if you have any luck having them made. -MP |

Lucky I got mine about 6 months ago on Amazon for around $20 US. Here is a part known to fail but unavailable without an exorbitant amount. 3 times earlier pricing. Pete |

| Re: 1.9 Barrage RTR 1/10 Crawler Luck was definitely with you on that one. I guess I'll have to look for other options if the stock connect boxes fail. If they last, great, if not, I'd likely shop around for heavier axles and go nuts. |

I found this little truck in a pop-up ad and checked it out. I'm considering getting one to tinker with and keep in my car as a "lunch break" crawler. What's the consensus on this little rig? (from people who own one). Is it garbage? Decent? Great? In reading through the threads, opinions seem all over the map. I like to work on my stuff, so tweaking and upgrading actually fall in to the plus category for me. I'm one of those weirdos that actually enjoy working on my rigs about as much as driving them! Also - better to buy the KIT or the RTR as a starting point? In other words, if i'm going to be upgrading a bunch of stuff myself anyway............... How is aftermarket support? |

I'll say it's like any entry level crawler ... not really bad, but not a performer for sure ... just decent for the price. Only broke one spool so far, waiting for a new one until aluminum one is available again. Had to choose between BTD (kit with radio and battery) and RTR (Doomsday) too, they are of the same grade (no difference with the BTD except body and tires/wheels) ... ended with the BTD that was cheaper. If you enjoy working on your rigs, then BTD is the way to go. |

I've had mine for just over a year or so. I've always been impressed with how fun and capable it is. I quickly felt the need to replace the stock servo with something equally compact, but strong. Then the next thing was determining which size tires matched the look and performance I was hoping for. There was no need for it to overlap with the 1.9" wheel crawlers in my collection, so I settled on 3.74"/95mm tires for the Barrage. I like that even though it's able to punch above its weight, it still presents a challenge to drive in places that my 1/10 crawlers wouldn't even break a sweat on. The only "dislike" I'm still left with is that the stock motor is too peppy. I turn the throttle down quite a bit, but still don't like how it generates power. I have a smaller pinion and a different (hopefully, lower turn) 370 can motor that I'm getting ready to install. Oh yeah, I also made it a point to replace as many of the Phillips head screws as easily possible. This is how mine currently sits: post 439 1.9 Barrage RTR 1/10 Crawler Last edited by colbynobo; 01-31-2018 at 08:21 AM. Reason: Added link to previous post |
