Well I ordered myself a TF2. Not super interesting I know but for a while I've wanted to build a replica of my dad's pickup. I'm going to get it as close to exact as possible. I sent him a text with photo instructions, LOL. She won't be super capable when I finish but it should be a fun one to hang onto forever. Heck that truck will be mine some day! I'm not going to do a build thread, no one wants to see a plain jane TF2 build. I know I've posted this photo before, and it's not a very good one, but here's what I'm going to copy. This is really a photo of the boat house he and I were building and the truck just happened to be in it. |

hey trey ill look and see if i kept the section of my bed i bobbed in case you are interested in making a longbed like your pic. its a pretty capable rig with a couple tweaks. ive only ran mine 2 or 3 times but its fun to drive a rig that has limitations and drives more like a scale truck actually would. |

Cool thanks! I didn't even think about that! I knew his was a long bed but it didn't occur to me that the TF2 wasn't. It's sort of hard to tell in the photo but his long bed looks like it's longer in front of and to the rear of the wheel well than the TF2. That would make for quite a bit of cutting and patching...but it would sure look good! I'm glad you pointed that out! |

IMO, if you only added a touch behind the rear tire, I'd look pretty spot on. It is hard to tell though. I would take the easy route and add behind the rear tire because after all is said & done, you'll be looking at your finished truck and it will be a distinct long bed truck. TF2 is a great truck.. Best thing I ever got from rc4wd along with the G2.. Both good kits. Last edited by Die-Laughing; 03-06-2015 at 12:44 PM. |

Yeah I may just wait and see how difficult it will be to lengthen the wheelbase. I think to be happy with it I'd have to at least add the length in front of the rear wheels. What are the "must have's" for this rig to make it functional? Helical gears I assume, probably the CV axles? Transmission and t-case gears okay?

It's functional for a light duty show truck out of the box but, if you feel the urge to upgrade.. Driveshafts, helical gears, cvds is a good start. Tcase & trans gears are fine. Might want to decide on a tcase mount mod because it sticks out the bottom of the truck and snags everything. Also, numerous ways to improve the suspension which is needed. I shortened the wheelbase on a leafed tf2 before and it wasn't bad. I imagine lengthening one would be easier if there is room on the frame rail to move the mount/hanger back. Worst case, make a rail extension to hold the mount/hanger. Your upgraded driveshafts should be long enough to extend.. Other than that, you could probably just move the shock hoop, both leaf hangers/mounts and you're done. |

I'm getting my bonus check next week and I've been thinking about getting a Quadcopter. I am leaning towards the Dji Phantom 2 Vision Plus. Does anyone on here have any experience with one or know someone who does? I've been wanting one for quite a while. Looking at reviews, videos, forums etc.... What do you guys think? |

driveshafts on the TF2 are a must imo. They are worse than the old wild boar shafts...

driveshafts suck, screw hardware sucks, leafs especially suck. im not bragging... but 2nd place at ecsc c1 aint bad for a relatively stock tf2. the only things i changed up were the driveshafts, xvds, helicals, spring hangers and tamiya leafs with traxxas rod ends modded to them so they twist easy. |
