Okay I ordered some of those tamiya leafs. I couldn't find a "leaf bag" other than parts bag G that was $100. I'm going to use the RC4WD leafs as helpers. This thing isn't going to be a comp rig, maybe some mild trail runs. This rig will be more of a shelf queen so I'm not super worried about performance. That's why I picked up those super scale RC4WD springs in the first place. I just thought they looked badass. To bad I screwed the one up, they were esspensive!

Ok well for today we r going with beefy anti wrap bars instead of the mod. I DO think I'll still bend the ends down to lower it though. Working on rear shock placement and came to this. Yay or nay? I THINK,, think the wrap bars will keep the springs from bending. I drive mindful of them too. No throttle jabbing to get out of a bind. I'd rather move it by hand then spend more on parts and my time. Thanks guys for the input. Not worth a build thread and I know you guys got a better head on your shoulders than most the other areas in the forum;). Still really need to make a bottom skid. That tranny is an anchor. |

those antiwraps might be worse than nothing at all. you need a floating end on the frame mount and have it be mounted solid to the axle so the axle wont try to pivot on it. trey did a pretty nice one for his chevy, might dip into his build thread to get what im talking about. |

heres a good pic. note how the axle attachment end isnt on a pivot. it doesnt move. then on the chassis end theres a shackle that lets the whole thing move without impeding the arc of the springs movement, but once that axle tries to twist one way or the other, the floating shackle on the chassis side takes up any slack and prevents the axle from twisting. |

OK. That clears that up for me. A whole different way to not wrap. I never had experience and was "assuming" an anti wrap was like the bottom link of a four link. I'd seen a vid where the cam was under the body on a 1/1 pointed at the axle during pretty nasty wrap. Bottom of the axle was the moving part so in my head I just thought of a lower link fixing it. Like leaf mounts are top link and lower links are lowers. I'll take these off and see if i don't gain anything. A proper wrap bar would be ideal. Thanks fer grabbing the pic and explaining it.

Werd. I'd sell it to you but soon as I did I'd find a need for it. |

mike that setup might work but it looks to me like the axle is going to pivot on the ball end of the link. i dont have any on either of my leafed rigs at the moment. if i get time i'll try to get one on my tf2 before the colorado comp. |
